It’s a GREAT DAY in North Baltimore! Last Night Village Administrator Allyson Murray shared EXCITING NEWS with the NB Council and citizens at the first meeting of September.
After surveys and community meetings and several months of waiting, she received word on Tuesday that North Baltimore had been awarded the Neighborhood Revitalization Grant.
Items to be addressed, with the grant dollars include:
$ -Main Street parking lot paving(former Whistle Stop lot)
$-Paving Walnut Street (from Main to Gillette)
$-Shelter House #1 improvements at Village Park
$-ADA Parking at Park shelterhouses
$-Additional paved parking at Park
$-Paving of Northview
Total cost estimates: $452,000
Additionally, there is a Downtown Beautification Grant that has already been awarded to North Baltimore, but the village has to wait until 2019 to receive those dollars. Once the funds are received, the entire block from the railroad tracks northward to Broadway will get a facelift–new sidewalks, curbs, street lighting, etc. That block of Main Street will then be re-built and paved.
Congratulations, NB! and Thanks to those who worked so hard to make this possible!
More on the rest of the Village Council meeting coming soon…..
