May 3, 2016
MINUTES
I. Pledge of Allegiance
Mayor Goldner called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
II. Roll Call:
Mayor Janet Goldner-Here, Matt Archer- Here, Ty Carles-Here, Art Patterson-Here, Rich Rose-Absent, Leslee Thompson- Here, Richard Van Mooy-Here, Student Representative(s) Conner Law- Here, Cassidy Hiser-Absent
Ms. Thompson made a motion to excuse Mr. Rose and Miss Hiser. Second by Mr. Carles. All approved.
III. Approval of the Minutes:
Motion made by Mr. Van Mooy to approve the minutes with changes of the April 19, 2016 meeting accordingly. Second by Ms. Thompson. All approved.
IV. Public Participation:
Special guest Police Officer Alex Niese, was sworn in by Chief Baer as the Villages new full time Police Officer. Mr. Niese has passed all requirements. Mr. Niese was accompanied by his wife, Jody and their three children.
V. Letters and Communications:
Mayor Goldner received a thank you note from the Paul Eichar family for the dedication for Paul at the Arbor Day Celebration.
Recycling day- April 30, tires were the big deal of the day. Also included shredding and electronics.
May 21, 2016 will be Public Safety Day- all sorts of events going on. Flyer to be out soon.

Mr. Kirk said he wanted to highlight that the budget process for 2017 will be coming in the next few weeks.

Report submitted- Questions for Mr. Wickard about the mowing schedule at the ball diamonds. Mr. Archer said there was a complaint. Ms. Murray said the school was pleased. Also brought up was the section of land that CSX owns but we now and that our contract it up. Ms. Murray to look into it both items.
Village Administrator:
Wastewater Plant Headworkâs Project- it has been too wet
Municipal Building Roof Update- the materials are here
Main Street Corridor- Had a very positive conversation today with Tim Bock and TMACOG. Trying to get on a coordinating schedule 1)sewer 2) curbs 3) paving
Motion made by Mr. Van Mooy to award the Tree Removal Project Bid to Ashcraft Tee Service of Findlay, Ohio in the amount of $6065. Second by Ms. Thompson. All approved.
Motion made by Mr. Van Mooy to award the Street Paving Project Bid to Morlock Paving of Portage, Ohio in the amount of $124, 802.50. Second by Mr. Carles. All approved.
The Village received word that we were awarded $32,900 in CDBG funds to install ADA compliant sidewalk entrances of the intersections of Broadway and Tarr Streets. This project will begin summer/fall of 2016. Next round is coming up in mid-May for next year.
Motion made by Mr. Patterson to contract Poggemeyer to do the engineering for the CDGB application for next year. Second by Mr. Carles. All approved.
Motion made by Ms. Thompson to authorize theVillage Administator to fill out applications for the Lowes Grant and the Natureworks Grants. Second by Mr. Patterson. All approved.

Mr. Van Mooy handed out paperwork about leasing and trade in on mowers. More discussion at COTW
This is National drinking water month and kudos to Andy Patterson for quality water.

Motion made by Mr. Van Mooy that Ordinance 2016-13 be added to the agenda for the 1st reading. And Ordinance 2016-14 added to the agenda as an emergency. Second by Mr. Patterson. All approved.
