Cross Country Wrap-up from Coach Rowlinson:
Varsity Girls finished 9th place led by Lydia Hartman’s (22:14), Sydnee Smith’s (22:35), and Rachel Crouse’s (23:34), all three finished with career records. Hartman’s time puts her on North Baltimore’s top ten board of all time at number 8, knocking off cross country/track coach, Cyndi (Schwab) Hotaling from the top 10 board.
Marina Kimmel finished 4th for the Tigers with a (24:50). Katie Dewulf (26:55) took off a minute and 20 seconds from last weeks time and Gabby Kepling (27:48) rounded out the day for the girls who finished with their best top five average of the season with a 24:02, two seconds faster than last weeks performance.
Varsity Boys finished 10th place led by Levi Trout’s (18:40) and Noah Pelton’s (19:07).
Zeth Johnson (19:40) and Zion Cook (20:14) finished the day with career records with Wyatt Mowery’s (20:41) rounding out the top five for the boys. Aiden Gore (20:45) sprinted to the finish right behind Mowery and Kyle Gerdeman finished the day with a 21:36. The boys finished with a 19:41 top five average.
The 2017 season was a great success with both teams finishing 4th in the BVC and respectable places at district. The girls and boys had several top five averages that topped the past several years and 10 of the 14 runners finishing the season with their career bests.
