NB Custom Cuts Grand Opening Saturday June 11

North Baltimore’s newest business is about meat! Two high school buddies are teaming up to “revive” an old NB area business, that plays into what they both love, food, specifically meat!

Dave Bretz and Kev Simon are from the NBHS Class of 1972, and back then, there was nary a thought of “why don’t we open a meat market some day.” But now, 40-some years later, here they are, reopening what was Belleville Meats, formerly Husing and Son Meat Market.

Kev retired from the Ohio Dept. of Agriculture as a Meat Inspector, gaining many years of experience in the proper handling of meat. Dave, has spent most of his career in the construction industry (and eating).

The hours at the market, which also offers custom slaughter, are Monday to Friday – 8 am to 5 pm and Saturday – 8 am to 1 pm. Give them a call at 419-257-3529.

There will be a Grand Opening this Saturday, with FREE bratwursts from 11 am – 1 pm (or until they are gone). Stop on out on Insley Road, northeast of NB, just north of the intersection with Quarry Rd. (where there is a bridge out, AFTER the meat market)

  2. We tried them out the other night and the pork chops were some of the best we’ve ever had. True to their word, they were cut exactly how we wanted them. The shop was very clean and the service very friendly. Can’t wait to try the steaks next!!
