The Annual North Baltimore Halloween Parade is set to step off at 7:00pm on Saturday October 29, 2016. This year’s theme for the parade is; “Hometown Heroes…Honoring our Police, Fire, EMS & Military Personnel”. Police Chief Allan Baer, Fire Chief Ted Francisco, EMS Chief Will Matthes and a Military Veteran from NB American Legion Post #539 will serve as Parade Grand Marshalls.
Line-up will begin at the Powell School at 6:00pm. Chris Snyder will be organizing the line-up and parade route.
There will also be a costume contest for children and adults prior to the parade. Costume participants are asked to be at the Powell School by 5:00pm for registration with judging to take place
prior to the parade. Costumes will be judged in six categories; Scariest/Spookiest, Most Creative, Groups of 3 or More, Best Use of Theme, and Funniest.
The Annual Halloween Float Contest will begin with judging at the Powell School at 6:00pm and floats should incorporate the theme; “Hometown Heroes…Honoring our Police, Fire EMS & Military Personnel.” Float Categories will consist of; Small (golf cart or riding mower size), Medium (pickup truck bed or 5×8 utility trailer size) and Large (semi-truck bed or hay wagon size). Prizes will be awarded for first and second place in all categories for both the costume and float contests. Danielle Engard will be coordinating the costume and float contests.
Registration is required for the parade and the deadline is Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 5:00pm. Please stop by the Village Office or North Baltimore Chamber of Commerce office (at Miller Insurance – corner of E. Broadway and Tarr) to pick up a registration.

New this year, the North Baltimore Library will be sponsoring a “Name Our Giant Black Cat” contest for children in grades four & under. You may cast your vote to name the Giant Black Cat at the North Baltimore Library, October 12 – 16, 2016.
Also new this year will be a Parade Pre-Party on the Front Lawn of the Library on Saturday October 29, 2016 at 6:30pm where attendees can get a Halloween Snack and a Glow Stick.
