North Baltimore Police, on their Facebook page said, “We would like to take this time and advise you that within the last month there has been five garages broken into/entered.
At this time we are advising all citizens that in order to keep yourself and your property protected – lock up your belongings.
“The rule of Thumb is if it has a lock, lock it.”
There has also been some concern that if you lock your vehicle they will break the glass. However, in our years of being in law enforcement, there have only been only a handful of vehicles that have had this happen.
Most of the thefts that are being committed are “Crimes of Opportunity.” These crimes occur when the victim leaves their property unsecured and open for the taking.
