The Village of North Baltimore will have some money for repairing some of the rough streets throughout the village with the passing of a renewal of a 5 year street levy.
The vote was 354 YES and 250 NO.
Collection of the 2-mill tax will begin inĀ 2015, for five years. The millage generates approximately $85,000 per year, costing $67 per year for a home valued at $100,000. The money is earmarked for street repaving and reconstruction only, according to Mayor Mike Julien, with a priority list prepared to address the streets most affected by the sewer separation project, which was recently completed.
Road resurfacing and repaving will begin in the spring.
