Brady Rader completed 22 of 38 passes for 435 yards and 5 touchdowns, 3 to David Patterson (8 catches 210 yards), in North Baltimore’s season opening, non-league win over Holgate, at NB’s Memorial Field.
Also catching a TD pass each were Levi Gazarek (3 catches/124 yards) and Adam Flores (3 catches/51 yards). Kole Wymer completed the scoring on a one yard TD run.
NB opened the game with a 71 yard TD pass, Rader to Patterson, to take a 7 – 0 lead, following Gazarek’s extra point kick. But, Holgate would score a couple of times in the first quarter, one an interception of a Rader pass, that was returned for a TD. NB would lead at halftime 20 – 14.
The Tiger’s defense stepped up to stop Holgate’s offense from scoring, after the first quarter, until late in the game, in picking up the solid opening win 39 – 21.
NB rushed for 113 total yards, led by Wymer with 81 on 18 carries.
