NBHS Cross Country Awards Presented

North Baltimore High School Cross country awards were held Tuesday October 25th.

The CC team had a great season – with many personal best efforts and low team top five runner averages.

In addition to their athletic achievements the Varsity teams had exceptional academic efforts. The girls varsity team narrowly inched out the boys varsity team for the best GPA. The girls combined average GPA 3.9, with the boys right behind at 3.87.

First year junior high (JH) awards were presented to Caitlin Swartz and Lucy Trout. Second year JH awards were presented to Jordan Kimmel and Alex Trout.

First year varsity awards were presented to Katie Dewulf, Lydia Hartman, Zeth Johnson, Wyatt Mowery, Syndnee Smith, and Levi Trout.

Second year varsity awards were presented to Rachel Crouse, Noah Hetrick, and Gabby Kepling.

Third year varsity awards were presented to Aaron Fisher, Kyle Gerdeman, Aiden Gore, Marina Kimmel, and Noah Pelton.

Season highlight performances included Caitlin Swartz’s 6th place in the BVC; Sydnee Smith earning second team BVC, and Noah Pelton earning second
team BVC and regional qualifier.

Team special award winners were:
Captains Award: Marina Kimmel, Aiden Gore & Noah Pelton
Coaches Award:  Kyle Gerdeman & Lydia Hartman
Most Valuable Runner: Noah Pelton & Sydnee Smith
Most Improved Runner: Rachel Crouse & Aaron Fisher
Rookie Runner: Sydnee Smith & Levi Trout

Cross Country Div III Regionals (NW Ohio) were held Saturday October 29th at Hedges Boyer Park in Tiffin, Ohio.  Junior Noah Pelton was the only regional qualifier for N Baltimore.  Noah finished 98th out of 187 runners with a time of 18:34. Top seven teams and those individuals that finish in the top 28 advance to the state.
