On Friday, September 18 after the football game, NBHS hosted the 7th annual Dodge Ball Tournament, sponsored by Dr. Falkenstein and ATOD Prevention Specialist Tonya Lentz. ATOD stands for Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs. Six teams of 6 high school students plus a student coach participated in the double elimination tournament.
Congratulations go out to this year’s champions. With the team name “Dr. Falkenstein’s Monsters” we congratulate Gage Carles, David Patterson, Brady Rader, Garrett Carles, Adam Flores, Chase Naugle and Rikko Phamakao. They received free #DODGEBALL T-shirts and bragging rights for the year!

The other teams were, “The Girl Scout Drop-outs”, “The BBBs”, “John Cena”, “Beast-mode” and “The Rainbow Unicorns.”
Mrs. Lentz provided pizza and water. NB Athletic Boosters provided popcorn and soft pretzels. Lacey Hall served as announcer and music coordinator, and Jordan Bucher was time keeper. The referees were Dr. Falkenstein, Mr. Luderman and Mr. Daniels. At least 100 other students attended the event and watched, along with some parents, grandparents and younger siblings.
The event is hosted each year to promote positive choices in the late evening hours when students are susceptible to experimentation or use of illegal substances. The dodge ball event is a student favorite, based on attendance and the creative costumes that students make.
