Nina Sterling, 89, of North Baltimore, passed away at 5:47 a.m., Thursday, May 31, 2018, at the Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green. She was born on August 15, 1928, in Rochester, NY to the late Lester and Charlotte (Fleischer) Wright. She married William C. Sterling on September 24, 1949 and he preceded her in death on August 17, 2004.
Nina is survived by her daughter, Georgia (William) Courtney of McComb; her sons: William (Beverly) Sterling of Pataskala, Ronnie (Michelle) Stering of Wayne, Lonnie (Bonnie) Sterling of North Baltimore and James (Michelle) Sterling of Findlay; 19 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Lester Wright, Jr.; a great-grandson, Jayce Sterling; and her foster parents, Ernest and Viola Walter.
Nina was a homemaker and member of the North Baltimore American Legion Post 539 Auxiliary. She also had been an assistant Brownie Scout Leader with her foster mother, Viola Walter.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 4, 2018, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, with Pastor Mike Soltis officiating. Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
Memorial contributions may be given to either the Hancock County or Wood County Humane Society.
