COLUMBUS, OH (Sept. 2016) – The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) and the Ohio Development Services Agency (ODSA) are partnering during Energy Awareness Month to educate Ohioans on how to better manage their energy use. Throughout October, the agencies will provide ways to reduce energy consumption and increase energy efficiency, as well as information on programs to help Ohioans having trouble paying their energy bills.
“The PUCO encourages Ohioans to take an active role in their energy consumption.” said Chairman Asim Z. Haque, “By engaging in how you use energy around your home, consumers can reduce uncertainty of monthly bills and have a positive impact on Ohio’s energy future.”
Turning off the lights when you leave a room, washing only full loads of dishes and clothes, are some of the ways to increase your energy efficiency. Ohioans needing assistance in managing their energy costs can visit the ODSA website to learn more about programs that are available.
“Minor adjustments in your life can save you money and that adds up when you’re managing a family budget,” said David Goodman, director of the Ohio Development Services Agency.
