ODOT District Two Weekly Construction Update

Updates are highlighted in bold and underlined.

Lucas/Wood Counties

1. Interstate 75: Widening 

Wood & Hancock Counties (170-14, 199-14, 237-14 & 3000-14):
Interstate Restrictions:  Through July, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, between US 20 and CR 99 in Hancock County, for finish work.

Through June, I-75, between Oil Center Road and CR 99, will be reduced to two, 11-foot lanes for paving. Motorists are advised of traffic pattern change.

Effective overnight from 7pm until 6am, the following ramps will be closed for resurfacing.  The detours will be to the next exit north or south of the closure to head the correct direction.

·         Tonight the ramps to/from northbound I-75 to/from SR 18 (Exit 167).

·         Friday, April 28, the ramps to/from northbound I-75 to/from Eagleville Road (Exit 168).

Should the scheduled resurfacing work be impacted by weather, the whole ramp closure sequence will shift.

Effective tonight at 7pm, through Friday, April 28 at 6am, I-75, between Oil Center Road and CR 99, may be reduced to one lane with short-term (10 minute), intermittent rolling road blocks, for sign installation.

Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

2. Interstate 75: Widening

Lucas County (485-14, 536-14):  Through September 2018, overnight, 7pm through 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, from I-475 in Toledo to I-280 for widening and bridge work.

Through July, southbound I-75, between Ottawa River Road and I-280, is reduced to two lanes for pavement installation.

The following ramps are restricted/closed:

  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Phillips Avenue to southbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: northbound I-75; Stickney Avenue (Exit 207); North Expressway Drive; southbound I-75.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Jeep/Willys Parkway to southbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: Detroit Avenue.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Jeep/Willys Parkway to northbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: Berdan Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Phillips Avenue.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from southbound I-75 to Jeep/Willys Parkway (Exit 205A) is closed.  Detour: Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B).

·         Through September 2018, the interchange ramp from eastbound I-475 to southbound I-75 is reduced to one lane.

Local Streets:

Effective Monday, May 1, through Friday, May 5, nightly from 7pm to 6am, Phillips Avenue under I-75 will be closed for bridge work.  Detour: Detroit Avenue; Manhattan Boulevard.  Ramps will remain open.

Through May, the Polish Village Overpass is closed for bridge work.  Detour: North Expressway Drive; Stickney Avenue; South Expressway Drive.

Through June, South Expressway Drive is restricted to a single lane between Stickney Avenue and Lagrange Street.

Through June, Elm Street and Wersell Avenue at South Expressway Drive, are closed.

Through June, Stickney Avenue, is restricted to a single lane between North Expressway Drive and South Expressway Drive.

Through August, northbound Detroit Avenue under I-75 will be reduced to one lane for bridge work.

Through October, expect lane restrictions on Phillips Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

Through July 2018, lane restrictions are possible on Detroit Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

Through July 2018, expect lane restrictions on Berdan Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

Through July 2018, Willys Parkway from Pioneer Lane to Jeep Parkway is closed.

Project complete: September 2018.  All work is weather permitting.

3. Interstate 75: Rest Area

Wood County (8000-17):  Through June, the southbound I-75 rest area is closed for renovations and pavement repair.  Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

4. Interstate 75: Noise Wall Repair

Lucas County (520-16):  Through August, shoulder and single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, between I-280 and the Ohio/Michigan state line, for noise wall repair.  Project complete:  September. All work is weather permitting.

5. Interstate 280: Bridge Repair Project *UPDATE*
Lucas County (1002-17):  Effective Friday, April 28 at 9pm, through Monday, May 1 at 6am, northbound I-280 will be reduced to one lane for bridge repairs.  All ramps will remain open.
 Through March 2018, lane restrictions are possible on I-280 between Starr Avenue and Greenbelt Parkway for bridge repair. Ramp restrictions/closures may be announced. Project complete: March 2018.  All work is weather permitting.

6. Interstate 280: Deck Testing

Lucas County:  Through Friday, April 28, daily from 7:30am until 2:30pm, lane restrictions are possible on the I-280 Veterans’ Glass City Skyway, for concrete deck testing.  Additionally at this time, the ramps to/from I-280 Veterans’ Glass City Skyway, may be reduced for testing but will remain open.  All work is weather permitting.

7. Interstate 475: ProMedica Parkway Ramp
Lucas County:
  The ramp from ProMedica Parkway to eastbound I-475 is open to access southbound I-75 only.  Through September 2018, the ramp from ProMedica Parkway to eastbound I-475 to access northbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: southbound I-75; Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B); northbound I-75.  All work is weather permitting.

8. Interstate Maintenance Work
Lucas and Wood Counties:
 Through December, intermittent overnight lane restrictions are possible on I-75, I-280 and I-475 in Lucas and Wood counties for maintenance work.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

9. U.S. Route 20: Central Avenue Interchange Project
Lucas County (210-15):
 Through September, Central Avenue, between McCord Road and Van Fleet Parkway, may be reduced to one lane for finish work. Through September, lane restrictions are possible on I-475/US 23, between Dorr Street and N. Holland Sylvania Road.

Through Friday, May 5, nightly from 9pm until 6am, the ramps from southbound US 23 and from southbound I-475 to Central Avenue (Exit 13) will be closed for barrier wall, guardrail, and sign installation.  Detour: Eastbound SR 2 (Exit 8A); northbound I-475.

Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.

10. U.S. Route 20: Traffic Signal Upgrades

Lucas County (301-16):  Through May, daytime intermittent lane restrictions are possible at the intersection of Central Avenue/US 20 and Meijer Drive for finish work.  Project complete: May.  All work is weather permitting.

11. State Route 2: Anthony Wayne Bridge Painting Project
Lucas County (220-16): 
Through November, SR 2, between Oak Street and Broadway Street, is reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge painting. Additional local road closures may be announced.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

12. State Route 51: Bridge Rehabilitation Project

Lucas County (550-16):  Through September, Monroe Street/SR 51 over I-75 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge work.  Through June, access to/from Monroe Street to/from Glenwood Avenue, and from eastbound Monroe Street to Lawrence Avenue, is maintained through right turn movements only.  Additionally at this time, Maplewood Avenue and Lawrence Avenue north of Monroe Street, and northbound Lawrence Avenue, between Woodruff Avenue and Monroe Street, are closed.  Project complete: October. All work is weather permitting.

13. State Route 295: Resurfacing and Bridge Repair *UPDATE*
Lucas County (622-16):
Through mid-June, SR 295, between Neapolis Waterville Road and Doran Road will be closed for bridge repairs. Detour: US 24; SR 64. Effective Monday, May 1, through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 295, between Bailey Road and Box Road, for minor widening work.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: November. All work is weather permitting.

14. State Route 295: Chip Sealing

Lucas County (1068-16):  Through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 295, between SR 64 and US 20A, for chip sealing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

15. Bowen Road: Bridge Redecking

Lucas County (289-16):  Through October, nightly from 7pm through 6am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Secor Road and Douglas Road, for bridge work. Through July, Bowen Road, between Groveland Road and Langenderfer Drive, is closed for bridge deck replacement.  Detour: Groveland Road; Rushland Avenue.  Project complete: June 2018. All work is weather permitting.

16. Crabb Road: Bridge Rehabilitation *NEW PROJECT*

Lucas County (3036-16):  Effective Monday, May 1, through July, Crabb Road, between Telegraph Road and Laskey Road, will be closed for bridge rehabilitation.  Detour: Telegraph Road; Laskey Road.  Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.

17. U.S. Route 20: Culvert Replacements, Resurfacing & Turn Lanes

Wood County (256-16):  Through June, lane restrictions are possible on US 20, between Glenwood Road and SR 420 for resurfacing and turn lane installation.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Lane restrictions on US 20, between Luckey Road and SR 420, for bridge repair will be announced.  Traffic will be maintained by temporary traffic signal.

Through mid-May, Oregon Road at US 20 is closed for turn lane installation.  At this time, US 20 will be open to through traffic.

Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

18. State Route 25: Diverging Diamond Interchange

Wood County (8029-16):  Through October, overnight from 7pm until 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between the I-75/475 interchange and Fort Meigs Road, for diverging diamond interchange work.  Additionally, overnight from 9pm until 6am, lane restrictions are possible on SR 25, between Levis Commons Boulevard and Eckel Junction Road, for diverging diamond interchange work.  Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

19. State Route 281: Culvert Replacement

Wood County:  Through Friday, May 12, SR 281 at Mermill Road may be closed for culvert replacement.  Detour: SR 199; US 6. Additionally at this time, Mermill Road at SR 281 will be closed for culvert replacement.  Seek alternate route.  All work is weather permitting.

20. State Route 795: Traffic Signal Upgrades

Wood County (301-16):  Through May, daytime intermittent lane restrictions are possible on SR 795 at Glenwood Road, for traffic signal upgrades.  Project complete: May.  All work is weather permitting.

 

21. State Route 795: Bridge Rehabilitation Project 

Wood County (300-16): Through June, SR 795, between Cummings Road and Luckey Road, will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge rehabilitation.  Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

22. Fort Meigs Road: Widening
Wood County (460-16):
  Through June, Fort Meigs Road, between Five Point Road and the high school drive in Perrysburg, will be closed for widening.  Detour: Five Point Road; SR 25; Roachton Road.  Local access maintained.  Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

Ottawa/Sandusky/Seneca Counties

 

23. State Route 2: Bridge Rehabilitation

Ottawa County (499-16):  Through May, lane restrictions are possible on SR 2 over Gypsum Road for bridge work.  Additional lane restrictions may be announced in the fall.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

24. State Route 51: Pavement Repair

Ottawa and Wood Counties (194-16):  Through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 51, between SR 163 and SR 579, for pavement repairs.  Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

25. State Route 51: Culvert Replacement *NEW WORK*

Ottawa County:  Effective Monday, May 15, through Friday, May 19, SR 51, between Edgefield Drive and Manor Drive, will be closed for culvert replacement.  Detour: SR 795; I-280; SR 163.  All work is weather permitting.

 

26. State Route 53: Resurfacing and Bridge Work *UPDATE*

Ottawa County (500-16):  Through September, lane restrictions are possible on SR 53, between Sandusky/Ottawa county line and SR 2, for resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Additionally, lane restrictions are possible on the SR 53 bridge over SR 2 for bridge work.  ThroughFriday, May 5, lane restrictions are possible on SR 2 under SR 53, for bridge work.  Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.

27. State Route 358: Pavement Repairs and Chip Sealing

Ottawa County (1070-16):  Through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 358, between SR 163 and SR 2, for chip sealing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.

28. U.S. Route 6/20: Bridge Deck Sealing

Sandusky County (31-17):  Through June, lane restrictions are possible on the US 6/20 Fremont bypass for bridge deck sealing.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

 

29. State Route 53: Traffic Signal Upgrades

Sandusky County (301-16):  Through May, shoulder restrictions are possible on SR 53, between US 20 and Sean Street, for finish work. Additional restrictions may be announced.  Project Complete: May.  All work is weather permitting.

30. State Route 582: Pavement Repairs and Chip Sealing

Sandusky County (1070-16):  Through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 582, between US 23 and SR 105, for chip sealing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.

31. State Route 101: Pavement Repairs and Chip Sealing

Seneca & Sandusky Counties (1070-16):  Through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 101, between CR 62 and Limerick Road, for chip sealing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.

32. State Route 19: Pavement Repair *WORK COMPLETE*

Seneca County:  SR 19, between US 224 and SR 162, is now open. The pavement repair work is complete.

33. State Route 53: Bridge Repair

Seneca County (8001-17):  Through July, SR 53, between Miami Street and Hudson Street in Tiffin, is reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge repair.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

34. State Route 53: Resurfacing

Seneca County (107-17):  Through July, lane restrictions are possible on SR 53, between Euclid Avenue and the Seneca/Wyandot county line, for resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

Williams/Fulton/Henry Counties

35. U.S. Route 20A: Resurfacing

Williams County (150-17):  Through July, lane restrictions are possible on US 20A, between SR 15 and Williams/Fulton county line, for resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Additional closure for bridge repair will be announced.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

36. SR 49: Railroad Repairs *NEW WORK*

Williams County:  Effective Thursday, May 4, through Friday, May 12, SR 49, between Depot Street and Indiana Street, will be closed for railroad repair.  Detour: US 6; SR 2; SR 249.  All work is weather permitting.

 

37. U.S. Route 20: Bridge Repairs

Fulton County (504-16):  Through May, US 20, between Fayette and SR 108, will be closed for bridge repairs.  Detour: SR 66; US 20A; SR 108.  Project complete: June. All work is weather permitting.

 

38. U.S. Route 20A: Resurfacing and Signal Upgrades *UPDATE*

Fulton County (8016-16):  Through May, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on Airport Highway/US 20A, between the Lucas/Fulton County line and CR 3, for signal work.  Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

39. State Route 109: Culvert Replacement

Fulton County: Through Friday, April 28, SR 109, between US 20A and US 20, will be closed for culvert replacement. Detour: SR 109; US 20; SR 108; US 20A; SR 109. All work is weather permitting.

 

40. U.S. Route 6: Culvert Replacement *WORK COMPLETE*

Henry County:  US 6, between CR 7 and CR 6A in Henry County, is open.  The culvert replacement work is complete.

41. U.S. Route 6: Resurfacing *LANE RESTRICTIONS BEGIN MONDAY*

Henry County (136-17):  Effective Monday, May 1, through September, lane restrictions are possible on US 6, between CR P3 and Henry/Wood County line, for resurfacing.  Effective Monday, May 1, through May, US 6, between CR 1 and CR 2, and between CR 8 and SR 109, will be reduced to one lane for bridge resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by temporary traffic signal.  Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

42. State Route 18: Chip Sealing

Henry County (1068-16):  Through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 18, between Holgate and SR 109, for chip sealing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

43. State Route 108: Resurfacing

Henry County (91-17):  Through September, lane restrictions are possible on SR 108, between SR 18 and CR F in Holgate, for resurfacing.  Effective Monday, May 8, through Wednesday, May 10, SR 108, between SR 18 and CR H, will be closed for culvert replacement.  Detour: SR 18; SR 109; SR 613.  Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

44. State Route 109: Chip Sealing

Henry County (1068-16):  Through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 109, between Hamler and the Henry/Putnam county line, for chip sealing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

 

45. State Route 109: Resurfacing and Railroad Grade Elimination *CLOSURE BEGINS TUESDAY*

Henry County (91-17):  Through September, lane restrictions are possible on SR 109, between CR S and Marlow Drive in Liberty Center, for resurfacing.   Effective Tuesday, May 2, through Saturday, May 6, SR 109, between Wabash Street and Lincoln Street, will be closed for railroad grade elimination and drainage work.  Detour: US 6; SR 108; US 20A.  Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

46. State Route 109: Damascus Bridge: Bridge Replacement

Henry County (1-15):  Through October, motorists should watch for additional truck traffic near SR 109 at the Damascus bridge for bridge work.  Work impacting traffic will be announced.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

47. Various Routes: Guardrail, Striping & Electrical Maintenance

District Wide (1053-15 & 1059-15 & 1044-15):  Through December, intermittent lane restrictions are possible district wide for guardrail, striping and electrical maintenance.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.
