ODOT District Two Weekly Construction Update

Updates are highlighted in bold and underlined.

Lucas/Wood Counties

1. Interstate 75: Widening

Wood & Hancock Counties (170-14, 199-14, 237-14 & 3000-14):
Interstate Restrictions:  Through July, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, between US 20 and CR 99 in Hancock County, for finish work.

Through Tuesday, June 6, SB I-75, between Portage Road and Mermill Road, may be reduced to two lanes for bridge repair.

Through June, I-75, between Oil Center Road and CR 99, will be reduced to two lane for paving.  Motorists are advised of traffic pattern changes.

Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

2. Interstate 75: Widening *LOCAL CLOSURE BEGINS MONDAY*

Lucas County (485-14, 536-14):  Through September 2018, overnight, 7pm through 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, from I-475 in Toledo to I-280 for widening and bridge work.

Through July, southbound I-75, between Ottawa River Road and I-280, is reduced to two lanes for pavement installation.

The following ramps are restricted/closed:

  • Effective Monday, June 5, through Monday, June 12 at 6am, the ramps to/from northbound I-75 to/from South Expressway Drive (Exit 207) will be closed for paving. Northbound I-75 to South Expressway Drive/Stickney Avenue (Exit 207) detour: Alexis Road (Exit 210); southbound I-75.  South Expressway Drive/Lagrange Street to northbound I-75 detour: Lagrange Street; Manhattan Boulevard; northbound I-280; I-75.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Phillips Avenue to southbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: northbound I-75; Stickney Avenue (Exit 207); North Expressway Drive; southbound I-75.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Jeep/Willys Parkway to southbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: Detroit Avenue.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Jeep/Willys Parkway to northbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: Berdan Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Phillips Avenue.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from southbound I-75 to Jeep/Willys Parkway (Exit 205A) is closed.  Detour: Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B).

·         Through September 2018, the interchange ramp from eastbound I-475 to southbound I-75 is reduced to one lane.

Local Streets:

Effective Sunday, June 4 at 7pm, through Monday, June 5 at 6am, Detroit Avenue, under I-75 will be closed for bridge work. Detour: Phillips Avenue; Havehills Drive; Berdan Avenue.

Effective Monday, June 12, through early August, Berdan Avenue at Jeep Parkway will be closed for roundabout construction.  Detour: Detroit Avenue; Phillips Avenue; Haverhill Drive.  Additionally at this time, Jeep Parkway north of the Overland smokestack will be closed.  Detour: Central Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Berdan Avenue.

Effective Monday, June 12, through Monday, June 12, South Expressway Drive, between Lagrange Street and Stickney Avenue, will be closed for paving. Detour: Lagrange Street; Manhattan Boulevard; Stickney Avenue.

Through June, the Polish Village Overpass is closed for bridge work.  Detour: North Expressway Drive; Stickney Avenue; South Expressway Drive.

Through June, South Expressway Drive is restricted to a single lane between Stickney Avenue and Lagrange Street.

Through June, Elm Street and Wersell Avenue at South Expressway Drive, are closed.

Through June, Stickney Avenue, is restricted to a single lane between North Expressway Drive and South Expressway Drive.

Through August, northbound Detroit Avenue under I-75 will be reduced to one lane for bridge work.

Through October, expect lane restrictions on Phillips Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

Through July 2018, lane restrictions are possible on Detroit Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

Through July 2018, expect lane restrictions on Berdan Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

Through July 2018, Willys Parkway from Pioneer Lane to Jeep Parkway is closed.

Project complete: September 2018.  All work is weather permitting.

3. Interstate 75: Rest Area

Wood County (8000-17): Through Monday, June 5 at 9am, the southbound I-75 rest area is closed for pavement repair. Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

4. Interstate 75: Noise Wall Repair

Lucas County (520-16):  Through August, shoulder and single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, between I-280 and the Ohio/Michigan state line, for noise wall repair.  Project complete:  September. All work is weather permitting.

5. Interstate 280: Bridge Repair Project *UPDATE*
Lucas County (1002-17):
Through March 2018, lane restrictions are possible on I-280 between Starr Avenue and Greenbelt Parkway for bridge repair. Ramp restrictions/closures may be announced.

Effective Friday, June 9 at 9pm, through Monday, June 12 at 6am, northbound I-280 VGCS will be reduced to one lane for bridge repairs.

Project complete: March 2018.  All work is weather permitting.

6. Interstate 475: ProMedica Parkway Ramp
Lucas County:
  The ramp from ProMedica Parkway to eastbound I-475 is open to access southbound I-75 only.  Through September 2018, the ramp from ProMedica Parkway to eastbound I-475 to access northbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: southbound I-75; Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B); northbound I-75.  All work is weather permitting.

 

7. Interstate 475: Resurfacing

Lucas County (497-16):  Through July, nightly from 9pm until 7am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Monclova Road and Central Avenue, for resurfacing.  Additional lane and ramp restrictions may be announced.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

8. Interstate Maintenance Work
Lucas and Wood Counties:
 Through December, intermittent overnight lane restrictions are possible on I-75, I-280 and I-475 in Lucas and Wood counties for maintenance work.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

9. U.S. Route 20: Central Avenue Interchange Project
Lucas County (210-15):
 Through September, Central Avenue, between McCord Road and Van Fleet Parkway, may be reduced to one lane for finish work. Through September, lane restrictions are possible on I-475/US 23, between Dorr Street and N. Holland Sylvania Road.  Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.

10. U.S. Route 20: Traffic Signal Upgrades

Lucas County (301-16):  Through June, daytime intermittent lane restrictions are possible at the intersection of Central Avenue/US 20 and Meijer Drive for finish work.  Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

11. U.S. Route 20: Water Line Work *NEW WORK*

Lucas County: Effective Saturday, June 3, through Monday, June 5, lane restrictions are possible on westbound US 20/Central Avenue at Holland Sylvania Road, for water line work. Additionally at this time, lane restrictions are possible on northbound Holland Sylvania Road at US 20, for water line work. All work is weather permitting.

12. State Route 2: Anthony Wayne Bridge Painting Project
Lucas County (220-16): 
Through November, SR 2, between Oak Street and Broadway Street, is reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge painting. Additional local road closures may be announced. Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

13. State Route 2: Resurfacing *PROJECT RESUMES*

Lucas County (8028-16): Through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 2, between North Curtice Road and the Lucas/Ottawa county line, for resurfacing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.

14. State Route 51: Bridge Rehabilitation Project *UPDATE*

Lucas County (550-16): Effective Monday, June 5, through Thursday, June 8, single lane restrictions are possible on northbound I-75 under Monroe Street, for bridge work. Through September, Monroe Street/SR 51 over I-75 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge work.  Through June, access to/from Monroe Street to/from Glenwood Avenue, and from eastbound Monroe Street to Lawrence Avenue, is maintained through right turn movements only.  Additionally at this time, Maplewood Avenue and Lawrence Avenue north of Monroe Street, and northbound Lawrence Avenue, between Woodruff Avenue and Monroe Street, are closed.  Project complete: October. All work is weather permitting.

 

15. State Route 51/Monroe Street: Bridge Redecking
Lucas County (289-16):
  Through October, nightly from 7pm through 6am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Secor Road and Douglas Road, for bridge work.  Effective Tuesday, May 30, through August, Monroe Street over I-475 will be closed for bridge deck replacement.  Detour: Secor Road; Central Avenue.  Once open, through September, Monroe Street over I-475 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge work.  Project complete: June 2018.  All work is weather permitting. 

16. State Route 295: Resurfacing and Bridge Repair
Lucas County (622-16
): Through July, lane restrictions are possible on SR 295, between South River Road and SR 64 for resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: November. All work is weather permitting.

17. State Route 295: Chip Sealing

Lucas County (1068-16):  Through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 295, between SR 64 and US 20A, for chip sealing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

18. Bowen Road: Bridge Redecking

Lucas County (289-16):  Through October, nightly from 7pm through 6am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Secor Road and Douglas Road, for bridge work. Through July, Bowen Road, between Groveland Road and Langenderfer Drive, is closed for bridge deck replacement.  Detour: Groveland Road; Rushland Avenue.

Through mid-June, the following intersections will be closed for pavement work.

·         Groveland Road at Bowen Road.  Detour: Monroe Street; Woodmont Road.

·         Langenderfer Drive at Bowen Road.  Detour: Pennhurst Road; Grantley Road.

Project complete: June 2018. All work is weather permitting.

19. Crabb Road: Bridge Rehabilitation

Lucas County (3039-16):  Through July, Crabb Road, between Telegraph Road and Laskey Road, will be closed for bridge rehabilitation.  Detour: Telegraph Road; Laskey Road.  Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.

20. U.S. Route 20: Culvert Replacements, Resurfacing & Turn Lanes

Wood County (256-16):  Through June, lane restrictions are possible on US 20, between Glenwood Road and SR 420 for resurfacing and turn lane installation.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

21. State Route 235: Culvert Replacements 

Wood County: Effective Monday, June 12, through Friday, June 16, SR 235, between US 6 and Willow Road, will be closed for culvert replacement. Detour: SR 65; US 6. Effective Monday, June 19, through Friday, June 23, SR 235, between Riegle Road and SR 18, will be closed for culvert replacement. Detour: SR 18; SR 65; SR 613.  All work is weather permitting.

22. State Route 25: Diverging Diamond Interchange *UPDATE*

Wood County (8029-16):  Through October, overnight from 7pm until 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between the I-75/475 interchange and Fort Meigs Road, for diverging diamond interchange work.  Additionally, overnight from 9pm until 6am, lane restrictions are possible on SR 25, between Levis Commons Boulevard and Eckel Junction Road, for diverging diamond interchange work.

Effective Monday, June 12, through September, SR 25 between Eckel Junction Road and Jefferson Street, will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge work. Effective Monday, June 19, through September, the left turn lane from southbound SR 25 to southbound I-475, will be closed. Detour: Jefferson Street; northbound SR 25. The left turn lane from northbound SR 25 to northbound I-475 will remain open.

Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

23. State Route 795: Traffic Signal Upgrades

Wood County (301-16):  Through June, daytime intermittent lane restrictions are possible on SR 795 at Glenwood Road, for traffic signal upgrades.  Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

 

24. State Route 795: Bridge Rehabilitation Project

Wood County (300-16): Through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 795, between Cummings Road and Luckey Road, for finish work. Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.

25. State Route 795: Bridge Work *NEW PROJECT*

Wood County (505-16): Effective Monday, June 5, through Friday, June 9, lane restrictions are possible on SR 795 between, Luckey Road and Tracey Rd, for bridge work. Project complete: September. All work is weather permitting.

26. Fort Meigs Road: Widening
Wood County (460-16):
  Through early July, Fort Meigs Road, between Five Point Road and the high school drive in Perrysburg, will be closed for widening.  Detour: Five Point Road; SR 25; Roachton Road.  Local access maintained.  Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

Ottawa/Sandusky/Seneca Counties

 

27. State Route 2: Bridge Rehabilitation

Ottawa County (499-16):  Through May, lane restrictions are possible on SR 2 over Gypsum Road for bridge work.  Additional lane restrictions may be announced in the fall.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

28. State Route 51: Pavement Repair

Ottawa and Wood Counties (194-16): Through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 51, between SR 163 and SR 579, for pavement repairs.  Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

 

29. State Route 53: Resurfacing and Bridge Work

Ottawa County (500-16):  Through September, lane restrictions are possible on SR 53, between Sandusky/Ottawa county line and SR 2, for resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Additionally, lane restrictions are possible on the SR 53 bridge over SR 2 for bridge work. Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.

30. State Route 163: Resurfacing

Ottawa County (253-17):  Through October, lane restrictions are possible on SR 163, between SR 51 and the Ottawa/Wood County line, for resurfacing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

31. State Route 358: Pavement Repairs and Chip Sealing

Ottawa County (1070-16):  Through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 358, between SR 163 and SR 2, for chip sealing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.

 

32. State Route 590: Culvert Replacement *UPDATE*

Ottawa County: The closure of SR 590, between Trowbridge Road and Velliquitte Road, for culvert replacement scheduled for Tuesday, May 30, through Friday, June 2, has been postponed until further notice.

33. State Route 53: Traffic Signal Upgrades                                      

Sandusky County (301-16):  Through June, shoulder restrictions are possible on SR 53, between US 20 and Sean Street, for finish work. Additional restrictions may be announced.  Project Complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

34. State Route 582: Pavement Repairs and Chip Sealing

Sandusky County (1070-16):  Through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 582, between US 23 and SR 105, for chip sealing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.

35. State Route 300: Sewer Line Replacement

Sandusky County: Effective Monday, June 5, through Friday, June 9, SR 300, between CR 65 and SR 600, will be closed for sewer line replacement. Detour: US 6; US 23; SR 600. All work is weather permitting.

36. State Route 510: Railroad Crossing Repairs

Sandusky County: Through Friday, June 2, SR 510, between Hamer Street and Amanda Street, will be closed for railroad crossing repairs. Detour: CR 175; CR 260. All work is weather permitting.

37. State Route 101: Pavement Repairs and Chip Sealing

Seneca & Sandusky Counties (1070-16):  Through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 101, between CR 62 and Limerick Road, for chip sealing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.

38. State Route 4: Railroad Crossing Repairs

Seneca County: Through Saturday, June 10, SR 4, between CR 36 and TR 104, will be closed for railroad crossing repairs. Detour: US 224; SR 99; SR 162. All work is weather permitting.

39. State Route 19: Pavement Repair *WORK COMPLETE*

Seneca County:  SR 19, between SR 18 and SR 228 is open. Pavement repair is complete.

40. State Route 53: Bridge Repair

Seneca County (8001-17):  Through July, SR 53, between Miami Street and Hudson Street in Tiffin, is reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge repair.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

41. State Route 53: Resurfacing

Seneca County (107-17):  Through July, lane restrictions are possible on SR 53, between Euclid Avenue and the Seneca/Wyandot county line, for resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

42. State Route 67: Bridge Repairs

Seneca County (183-17): Effective Friday, June 30, through July, SR 67, between Coe Road and East TR 8, will be closed for bridge repairs. Project Complete: July. All work is weather permitting.

43. State Route 67: Resurfacing and Bridge Repair

Seneca County (183-17):  Through October, lane restrictions are possible on SR 67, between Republic and Melmore, for resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Through July, SR 67, between CR 16 and US 224, will be closed for bridge repair.  Detour: SR 100; US 224; SR 67.  Through August, SR 67, between TR 8 and CR 43, will be closed for bridge repair.  Detour: SR 100; SR18. Project complete: November. All work is weather permitting.

Williams/Fulton/Henry Counties

 

44. U.S. Route 20: Resurfacing and Bridge Repair

Williams and Fulton Counties (504-16): Through July, lane restrictions are possible on US 20, between Alvordton and SR 108 North, for resurfacing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Additional closures will be announced. Project complete: August. All work is weather permitting.

45. U.S. Route 20A: Resurfacing *CLOSURE BEGINS MONDAY*

Williams County (150-17):  Through July, lane restrictions are possible on US 20A, between SR 15 and Williams/Fulton county line, for resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Effective Monday, June 5, through Friday, June 9, US 20A, between CR 17-75 and Egly Drive, will be closed for bridge repair. Detour: SR 127; US 20.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

46. State Route 107: Resurfacing *NEW PROJECT*

Williams County (487-16): Through August, lane restrictions are possible are SR 107, between CR 10 through Montpelier, for resurfacing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: September. All work is weather permitting.

 

47. U.S. Route 20A: Resurfacing and Signal Upgrades

Fulton County (8016-16):  Through May, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on Airport Highway/US 20A, between the Lucas/Fulton County line and CR 3, for signal work.  Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

 

48. U.S. Route 6: Resurfacing

Henry County (136-17):  Through September, lane restrictions are possible on US 6, between CR P3 and Henry/Wood County line, for resurfacing.  Through July, US 6, between CR 1 and CR 2, and between CR 8 and SR 109, will be reduced to one lane for bridge resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by temporary traffic signal.  Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

49. U.S. Route 6: Resurfacing and Bridge Repair *CLOSURE BEGINS MONDAY*

Henry County (209-17): Effective Monday, June 5, through Saturday, June 10, US 6, between First Street and CR 20-B, will be closed for bridge repair. Detour: US 6; SR 66; US 6/24. Additional lane restrictions will be announced for resurfacing.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

50. State Route 18: Chip Sealing

Henry County (1068-16):  Through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 18, between Holgate and SR 109, for chip sealing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

51. State Route 65: Resurfacing and Bridge Repair

Henry County (57-17):  Through October, lane restrictions are possible on SR 65, between CR G and Henry/Putnam county line, for resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Through Saturday, June 3, SR 65, between Henry/Putnam County line and CR G, will be closed for bridge repair. Detour: SR 613; SR 109; SR 281; SR 65.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

 

52. State Route 108: Resurfacing

Henry County (91-17):  Through September, lane restrictions are possible on SR 108, between SR 18 and CR F in Holgate, for resurfacing.  Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

53. State Route 109: Chip Sealing

Henry County (1068-16):  Through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 109, between Hamler and the Henry/Putnam county line, for chip sealing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

 

54. State Route 109: Resurfacing and Railroad Grade Elimination

Henry County (91-17):  Through September, lane restrictions are possible on SR 109, between CR S and Marlow Drive in Liberty Center, for resurfacing.  Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

55. State Route 109: Damascus Bridge: Bridge Replacement

Henry County (1-15):  Through October, motorists should watch for additional truck traffic near SR 109 at the Damascus bridge for bridge work. Through Friday, June 9, SR 109, between SR 110 and CR 424, will be closed for paving. Detour: CR 424; US 6; SR 110.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

56. Stevenson Street Bridge Repair

Henry County (3037-16): Through September, the Stevenson Street, between Carey Street and Ohio Street in Napoleon, will be closed for bridge repair. Detour: Carey Street; Scott Street; Lagrange Street. Project complete: September. All work is weather permitting.

57. Various Routes: Guardrail, Striping & Electrical Maintenance

District Wide (1053-15 & 1059-15 & 1044-15):  Through December, intermittent lane restrictions are possible district wide for guardrail, striping and electrical maintenance.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.
