ODOT Weekly Construction Update: Lucas County

I 75

Interstate 75: Widening *UPDATE*
Lucas County (485-14, 536-14):  Through September 2018, overnight, 7pm through 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, from I-475 in Toledo to I-280 for widening and bridge work.

 Effective Friday, July 14 at 10 pm, through Saturday, July 15 atnoon, southbound I-75, between Ottawa River Road and Lagrange Street, will be reduced to one lane for traffic pattern change. The following ramps will be closed for traffic pattern change:

·10pm until 6am, the ramp from southbound I-75 to southbound I-280. Detour: southbound I-75; Lagrange Street (Exit 207); northbound I-75; southbound I-280.

·10pm until noon, the ramp from northbound I-280 to southbound I-75. Detour: northbound I-75; Alexis Road (Exit 210); southbound I-75.

· 6am until 8am, the ramp from southbound I-75 to Lagrange Street. Detour: Phillips Avenue (Exit 206); Manhattan Boulevard.

Effective Saturday, July 15 at 6am, the ramp from southbound I-75 to southbound I-280 (exit 208), will be a right hand exit. *Motorists are advised of changing traffic pattern*

Through July, southbound I-75, between Ottawa River Road and I-280, is reduced to two lanes for pavement installation.

The following ramps are restricted/closed:

·         Effective Monday, July 10, through Wednesday, July 12, nightly 10pm until 6am, the ramp from northbound I-280 to southbound I-75, will be closed for barrier wall relocation. Detour: northbound I-75; Alexis Road (Exit 210); southbound I-75.

·         Effective Monday, July 17, through Friday, July 21, nightly 10pm until 6am, the ramps to/from northbound I-75 to/from South Expressway Drive (Exit 207) will be closed for noise wall and barrier wall installation. Northbound I-75 to South Expressway Drive/Stickney Avenue (Exit 207) Detour: Alexis Road (Exit 210); southbound I-75. South Expressway Drive/Lagrange Street to northbound I-75 Detour: Lagrange Street; Manhattan Boulevard; northbound I-280; I-75.

  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Phillips Avenue to southbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: northbound I-75; Stickney Avenue (Exit 207); North Expressway Drive; southbound I-75.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Jeep/Willys Parkway to southbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: Detroit Avenue.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Jeep/Willys Parkway to northbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: Berdan Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Phillips Avenue.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from southbound I-75 to Jeep/Willys Parkway (Exit 205A) is closed.  Detour: Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B).

·         Through September 2018, the interchange ramp from eastbound I-475 to southbound I-75 is reduced to one lane.

Local Streets:

Through July, lane restrictions are possible on Stickney Avenue, between North Expressway Drive and South Expressway Drive.

Through July, the Polish Village Overpass is closed for bridge work.  Detour: North Expressway Drive; Stickney Avenue; South Expressway Drive.

 Through July, South Expressway Drive is restricted to a single lane between Stickney Avenue and Lagrange Street.

Through July, Elm Street and Wersell Avenue at South Expressway Drive, are closed.

Through early August, Berdan Avenue at Jeep Parkway will be closed for roundabout construction.  Detour: Detroit Avenue; Phillips Avenue; Haverhill Drive.  Additionally at this time, Jeep Parkway north of the Overland smokestack will be closed.  Detour: Central Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Berdan Avenue.

Through August, northbound Detroit Avenue under I-75 will be reduced to one lane for bridge work.

Through October, expect lane restrictions on Phillips Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

Through July 2018, lane restrictions are possible on Detroit Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

Through July 2018, expect lane restrictions on Berdan Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

Through July 2018, Willys Parkway from Pioneer Lane to Jeep Parkway is closed.

Project complete: September 2018.  All work is weather permitting

I 75

Interstate 75: Noise Wall Repair
Lucas County (520-16):  Through August, shoulder and single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, between I-280 and the Ohio/Michigan state line, for noise wall repair and sign installation.  Project complete:  September. All work is weather permitting.

I 280

Interstate 280: Bridge Deck Sealing *RAMP CLOSURES UPCOMING*
Lucas County (505-16): Through July, lane restrictions are possible on I-280 VGCS, for bridge deck sealing.

Effective Friday, July 7 at 9pm, through Monday, July 10 at 6am, the ramp from Front Street to northbound I-280, will be closed for bridge deck sealing. Detour: Front St; southbound I-280; Navarre Avenue (Exit 7); northbound I-280.

Effective Monday, July 10, through Wednesday, July 12, the ramp from northbound I-280 to Greenbelt Parkway/ SR25 (Exit 11), will be closed for bridge deck sealing. Detour: northbound I-280; Manhattan Boulevard (Exit 12); southbound I-280; Greenbelt Parkway/SR 25 (Exit 11).

Effective Friday, July 14 at 9pm, through Monday, July 17 at 6am, the ramp from southbound I-280 to Front Street, will be closed for bridge deck sealing. Detour: southbound I-280; Navarre Avenue (Exit 7); northbound I-280; Front Street (Exit 9).

Additional lane restrictions and ramp closures may be announced.

Project complete: September. All work is weather permitting.

I 475

Interstate 475: ProMedica Parkway Ramp
Lucas County:
  The ramp from ProMedica Parkway to eastbound I-475 is open to access southbound I-75 only.  Through September 2018, the ramp from ProMedica Parkway to eastbound I-475 to access northbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: southbound I-75; Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B); northbound I-75.  All work is weather permitting.

Interstate 475: Resurfacing
Lucas County (497-16):  Through July, nightly from 9pm until 7am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Monclova Road and Central Avenue, for resurfacing.  Additional lane and ramp restrictions may be announced.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

I 75

Interstate Maintenance Work
Lucas and Wood Counties: 
 Through December, intermittent overnight lane restrictions are possible on I-75, I-280 and I-475 in Lucas and Wood counties for maintenance work.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

U.S. Route 20: Central Avenue Interchange Project
Lucas County (210-15): 
 Through September, Central Avenue, between McCord Road and Van Fleet Parkway, may be reduced to one lane for finish work. Through September, lane restrictions are possible on I-475/US 23, between Dorr Street and N. Holland Sylvania Road.  Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.

US 23

U.S Route 23: Bridge Rehabilitation *UPDATE*
Lucas County (248-17): Through Friday, July 28, shoulder restrictions are possible on northbound US 23, between Holland Sylvania Road and Monroe Street, for bridge rehabilitation. Through September, nightly from 8pm until 6am, shoulder and lane restrictions are possible on northbound US 23, between Holland Sylvania Road and Monroe Street, for bridge rehabilitation.Additional restrictions will be announced. Project complete: October. All work is weather permitting.

State Route 2

State Route 2: Anthony Wayne Bridge Painting Project
Lucas County (220-16):  
Through November, SR 2, between Oak Street and Broadway Street, is reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge painting. Additional local road closures may be announced. Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

State Route 2

State Route 2: Resurfacing *UPDATE*
Lucas County (8028-16): Through July, lane restrictions are possible on SR 2, between North Curtice Road and the Lucas/Ottawa county line, for resurfacing and pavement markings. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.

State Route 2

State Route 2: Resurfacing *NEW PROJECT*
Lucas County (325-17): Effective Monday, July 24, through mid-November, single lane restrictions are possible on SR 2, between Holloway Road and Holland Sylvania Road, for resurfacing. Project complete: December. All work is weather permitting.

State Route 51

State Route 51: Bridge Rehabilitation Project
Lucas County (550-16): Through September, Monroe Street/SR 51 over I-75 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge work. Through September, access to/from Monroe Street to/from Glenwood Avenue, to/from Maplewood Avenue, to/from Lawrence Avenue north of Monroe Street, and eastbound Monroe Street to Lawrence Avenue south of Monroe Street, is maintained through right turn movements only.  Additionally at this time, northbound Lawrence Avenue, between Woodruff Avenue and Monroe Street, is closed.  Project complete: October. All work is weather permitting.

State Route 51

State Route 51/Monroe Street: Bridge Redecking
Lucas County (289-16):
  Through October, nightly from 7pm through 6am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Secor Road and Douglas Road, for bridge work. Through August, Monroe 505Street over I-475 will be closed for bridge deck replacement.  Detour: Secor Road; Central Avenue.  Once open, through September, Monroe Street over I-475 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge work. Project complete: June 2018.  All work is weather permitting.

State Route 64: Resurfacing and Bridge Repair *UPDATE*
Lucas County (290-17): Effective Monday, July 17, through October, lane restrictions are possible on SR 64, between US 24 and SR 64 North, for resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: November. All work is weather permitting.

State Route 65: Bridge Deck Sealing *UPDATE*
Lucas County (505-16): Effective Monday, July 17, through Wednesday July 19, lane restrictions are possible on SR 65/Craig Memorial Bridge.

State Route 120: Resurfacing *RESTRICTIONS BEGIN WEDNESDAY*
Lucas County: (325-17): Effective Wednesday, July 12, through September, lane restrictions are possible on SR 120, between Holland Sylvania Road and Secor Road, for resurfacing. Project complete: December. All work is weather permitting.

State Route 295: Resurfacing and Bridge Repair
Lucas County (622-16
): Through July, lane restrictions are possible on SR 295, between South River Road and SR 64, for resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: November. All work is weather permitting.

State Route 295: Bridge Rehabilitation
Wood and Lucas Counties (8004-17): Through Mid-August, SR 295, between South River Road and Front Street over the Maumee River, is closed for bridge rehabilitation. Detour: SR 65; SR 64; US 24. Additional restrictions may be announced. Project complete: September. All work is weather permitting.

Bowen Road: Bridge Redecking *UPDATE*
Lucas County (289-16):  Through October, nightly from 7pm through 6am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Secor Road and Douglas Road, for bridge work.Bowen Road, between Groveland Road and Langenderfer Drive, is now openProject complete: June 2018. All work is weather permitting.

Crabb Road: Bridge Rehabilitation
Lucas County (3039-16):  Through July, Crabb Road, between Telegraph Road and Laskey Road, is closed for bridge rehabilitation.  Detour: Telegraph Road; Laskey Road.  Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.

Various Routes: Guardrail, Striping & Electrical Maintenance
District Wide (1076-16 & 1069-16 & 1065-16):  Through December, intermittent lane restrictions are possible district wide for guardrail, striping and electrical maintenance.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.
