ODOT District 1 Highway Construction – Week of April 4, 2016
The following is work scheduled to occur on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. For the latest in statewide construction visit www.ohgo.com.
Allen County
Ohio 309 (Elida Road) from Robb Avenue to Cole Street, Lima, is restricted in the westbound direction for reconstruction of the curb and gutter, upgrade of traffic signals and resurfacing of the roadway. The continuous turn from eastbound Ohio 309 to Grand Avenue was permanently closed on March 14. Three lanes of traffic will remain open at all times throughout the duration of the project. Only one lane at a time will be taken out of service. In approximately two weeks, traffic will be restricted in the eastbound direction. The project will be completed in the fall. Work is being performed by Smith Paving, Norwalk.
Ohio 696 from the village of Beaverdam to the Putnam County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.
Ohio 309 west from Robb to Eastown Road will be restricted to lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.
Defiance County
Ohio 15 (Clinton Street) on the bridge over the Maumee River in the city of Defiance will be restricted to one lane, one direction at a time, for inspection of the bridge abutments. The restriction will occur on Monday, April 11 from approximately 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Hancock County
There are no projects scheduled during the week which will significantly affect traffic.
Hardin County
U.S. 68 from the north corporation limits of Dunkirk to the Hancock County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage.
Paulding County
U.S. 24 from U.S. 127 to the Indiana line will be restricted to one lane throughout the week, both eastbound and westbound, one direction at a time, for warranty pavement analysis.
U.S. 24 throughout the county will be restricted for pot hole patching. Work is being performed by the ODOT Paulding County maintenance garage.
Ohio 49 north of the village of Payne, between Road 94 and Road 96, closed March 21 for 60 days for a bridge replacement project. Traffic detoured onto Ohio 500 and Ohio 111 back to Ohio 49. Work is being performed by Vernon Nagel, Napoleon.
Putnam County
Ohio 696 between the Allen County line and Ohio 12 will be restricted for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage.
Van Wert County
U.S. 127 (Washington Street) between Fox Road and Ervin Road in the city of Van Wert will be closed beginning April 11 for reconstruction and widening of the road. Access to local businesses will be maintained. Traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 81, Ohio 118, Ervin Road/Van Wert-Decatur Road, U.S. 224 and U.S. 30 back to U.S. 127. The closure will remain in place until fall. Work is being performed by Helms & Sons Excavating, Findlay.
Ohio 81 from Ohio 118 to the village of Willshire will be restricted for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage.
Wyandot County
Ohio 53 just south of County Highway 35 south of McCutchenville is now open following a culvert replacement.
