The following is a weekly report concerning construction and maintenance work on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. This report is issued each week beginning in April and continues through November.

Allen County
Interstate 75 Reconstruction project For the most recent information concerning the Interstate 75 reconstruction project through Lima and Allen County please visit www.odotlima75.org.
Ohio 696 in the village of Beaverdam closed April 27 for five days for a railroad crossing repair. Traffic detoured onto Interstate 75, Ohio 235, and Ohio 12 back to Ohio 696. Work is being performed by Roadsafe Traffic.
Ohio 81 between Sugar Street and Neubrecht Road at the railroad tracks adjacent to Sugar Street will be closed beginning May 1 for one week for culvert replacement and pavement repairs. Traffic restrictions related to the project began April 27. Traffic will be detoured onto Neubrecht Road, Bible Road and Sugar Street back to Ohio 81. Work is being performed by R.B. Jergens Contractors Inc., Dayton.
Interstate 75 and Ohio 696, Beaverdam – The southbound entrance and northbound exit ramps at Interstate 75 and Ohio 696 at Beaverdam will be closed during the week of May 11 for pavement repair. The present schedule for the closures is as follows. Work is being performed by the Allen County ODOT maintenance garage:
- Beginning Monday, May 11, the entrance ramp to Interstate 75 southbound from Ohio 696 will be closed for three days. Traffic will be detoured north onto Interstate 75 to the Ohio 103/Bentley Road interchange back to Interstate 75 southbound.
- On Thursday, May 14, the exit ramp from Interstate 75 northbound to Ohio 696 will be closed for one day only. Traffic will be detoured north on Interstate 75 to the Ohio 103/Bentley Road interchange to Interstate 75 south back to Ohio 696 at Beaverdam.
- Only one ramp at a time will be closed.
Defiance County
Ohio 49 south of Edgerton, both north and south of Kramer Road, will be closed beginning May 4 for one week for culvert replacements at two locations. Traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 249, Ohio 2, Ohio 576 and U.S. 6 back to Ohio 49. Work is being performed by the Defiance County ODOT maintenance garage.
Ohio 18/49 in the village of Hicksville will have occasional lane restrictions during the week for work relating to the installation of curb ramps in preparation for a resurfacing project. Work is currently taking place between the Hicksville High School and Ohio 2. Work is being performed by Brooks Construction, Ft. Wayne, Ind.
Hancock County
Interstate 75 in Wood and Hancock counties: Through 2016, southbound I-75 is reduced to two lanes from US 20 to I-475 in Perrysburg. Through November, from 8pm until 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75 between the I-75/I-475 interchange in Perrysburg to CR 99 in Hancock County. Through 2016, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-75 between US 20 in Perrysburg to CR 99 in Hancock County. Project complete: October 2017. All work is weather permitting.
Special events . . .
- Effective Monday, April 27, through December, Township Road 101 in Hancock County, between CR 220 and TR 142, will be closed for bridge work on I-75.
- I-75 southbound south of Ohio 18 will have nightly lane closures for shoulder pavement repair beginning 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 26 until 6 a.m. Friday, May 1
U.S. 68 in the village of Arlington will be restricted to one lane through the work zone during the week for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the Hancock County ODOT maintenance garage.
Ohio 37 from south of Mt. Blanchard to the Hardin County line will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the Hancock County ODOT maintenance garage.
Ohio 12 east of Arcadia is now open.
Hardin County
U.S. 68 between Washington Street and Wayne Street in the village of Dunkirk is currently open following a railroad crossing repair. The project is not completed and will require an additional closure in the near future. Work is being performed by LandRail Inc., LaOtto, Ind.
Ohio 67 west from County Road 75 to Township Road 85 may be restricted to one lane through the work zone during the week for a drainage project. Work is being performed by the Hardin County ODOT maintenance garage.
Paulding County
U.S. 127 north of Paulding at several locations will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for drainage tile repair. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.
Seeding will occur at the following locations during the week with traffic maintained through the work zone. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage:
-Ohio 637 north of County Road 126
-Ohio 500 just south of Ohio 111
-Ohio 111 east of County Road 133
-Ohio 66 at the Putnam County line
-Ohio 613 east of Township Road 131
U.S. 127 between Garfield Avenue and Jackson Street in the village of Paulding closed April 13 for approximately eight months for a sewer separation project. Traffic detoured onto Ohio 613, Ohio 637 and Ohio 111 back to U.S. 127. Work is being performed by VTF Excavation, Celina.
Putnam County
Ohio 115 just north of Kalida will be restricted to one lane through the work zone through the week for drainage repair.Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage.
Ohio 108 from Miller City to the Henry County line will be restricted to lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage.
Ohio 114 northwest of the village of Kalida just west of County Road 19 will be closed beginning May 11 for approximately five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 694, Ohio 115 and U.S. 224 back to Ohio 114. Once Ohio 114 reopens, County Road 19 will close for approximately one week also for culvert replacements. Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage.
Van Wert County
U.S. 30 eastbound and westbound at various locations from just east of Dutch John Road to Ringwald Road west of Middle Point will be reduced to one lane through the work zone for bridge maintenance. Work is being performed by the Van Wert County ODOT maintenance garage.
Wyandot County
Ohio 294 from U.S. 23 to Ohio 231 will be reduced to one lane through the work zone through the week for sealing of pavement cracks. Work is being performed by the Wyandot County ODOT maintenance garage.
U.S. 23/30 northbound and southbound at Upper Sandusky is currently reduced to one lane through the work zone for bridge and pavement repair and resurfacing. On U.S. 23 the zone extends from south of Ohio 182 to just south of County Road 47, and on U.S. 30 from the U.S. 23 split to Township Highway 103. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction, Columbus.
U.S. 23 northbound entrance ramp from eastbound U.S. 30 will be closed beginning May 4 for approximately three weeks for pavement resurfacing and bridge deck repair. Traffic will be detoured east on U.S. 30, north on Ohio 199 back to U.S. 23 northbound. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction, Columbus.
