ODOT District Two Weekly Construction Update

Updates are highlighted in bold and underlined.

Lucas/Wood Counties

1. Interstate 75: Widening
Wood & Hancock Counties (170-14, 199-14, 237-14 & 3000-14):

Interstate Restrictions:

Through November 2016, overnight, from 7pm until 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75 between the I-75/I-475 interchange in Perrysburg and CR 99 in Hancock County.  Through 2016, southbound I-75 is reduced to two lanes from US 20 to I-475 in Perrysburg. Through 2016, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-75 between US 20 in Perrysburg and CR 99 in Hancock County.

Ramp Restrictions:

·         Through December, the ramp from southbound I-75 to westbound I-475 is reduced to one lane. 

·         Through July 2016, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on the ramps from northbound and southbound I-75 to Cygnet Road (Exit 171) and from Cygnet Road to northbound and southbound I-75.

Local Routes:

Through February 2016, Bays Road at I-75 will be closed for bridge work.  Detour: SR 25; SR 281; Solether Road.

Through November, Jerry City Road at I-75 is closed for bridge work.  Detour: SR 25; SR 281; Solether Road.

Through December, Township Road 101 in Hancock County, between CR 220 and TR 142, is closed for bridge work over I-75.  Project complete: October 2017.  All work is weather permitting.

2. Interstate 75: Widening *UPDATE*
Lucas County (485-14, 536-14):
  Through July 2018, overnight, 7pm through 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, from I-475 in Toledo to I-280 for bridge work.  Through fall 2016, one lane of I-75 traffic is maintained in the current northbound lane and one lane of traffic is relocated to southbound I-75 and separated by barrier wall.

The following ramps are closed:

·         Through June 2016, the ramp from Phillips Avenue to northbound I-75.  Detour: Manhattan Boulevard; Lagrange Street; South Expressway Drive.

·         Through July 2016, the ramp from southbound I-75 to Phillips Avenue (Exit 206).  Detour: North Expressway Drive (Exit 207); Stickney Avenue; South Expressway Drive.

·         Through August 2016, the ramp from northbound I-75 to Jeep Parkway (Exit 205A).  Detour: Berdan Avenue (Exit 205B); Detroit Avenue.

·         Through October 2016, the ramp from northbound I-75 to Phillips Avenue (Exit 206).  Detour: south Expressway Drive (Exit 207); Stickney Avenue; North Expressway Drive.

·         Through July 2018, the ramp from Jeep Parkway to southbound I-75.  Detour: Berdan Avenue.

·         Through July 2018, the ramp from Willys Parkway to northbound I-75.  Detour: Berdan Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Phillips Avenue.

·         Through July 2018, the ramp from southbound I-75 to Willys Parkway (Exit 205A).  Detour: Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B).

Local Streets:

Through Friday, October 30, overnight from 8pm until 6am, Stickney Avenue at I-75 will be closed for bridge work.   Detour: Manhattan Boulevard; Chrysler Drive.

Effective Friday, October 30, from 12:01am through 6am, Lagrange Street at I-75 will be closed for bridge work.  Detour: Manhattan Boulevard; Phillips Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Sylvania Avenue.

Effective Monday, November 2, through November 2016, Elm Street and Wersell Avenue at South Expressway Drive, will be closed.

 

Through October, South Expressway Drive is restricted to a single lane between Stickney Avenue and Lagrange Street.

Through November, expect lane restrictions on Phillips Avenue at I-75, Lagrange Street at I-75, Berdan Avenue at I-75, Detroit Avenue at I-75, and Stickney Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.  

Through August 2016, Jeep Parkway from Central Avenue to Berdan Avenue is closed.  Central Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Berdan Avenue.

Through October 2016, the ramp from northbound I-75 to Berdan Avenue is restricted to right turn only movements.  Suggested alternate route: Berdan Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Phillips Avenue; Haverhill Drive.

Through May 2017, the Polish Village Overpass is closed for bridge work.  Detour: North Expressway Drive; Stickney Avenue; South Expressway Drive.

Through July 2018, Willys Parkway from Pioneer Lane to Jeep Parkway is closed.

Project complete: September 2018.  All work is weather permitting.

3. Interstate 75: Pavement Rehabilitation
Lucas County (268-14):
Through August 2016, I-75, from the I-75/475 split in Toledo to the Anthony Wayne Trail, is reduced to two lanes.  Overnight, 10pm through 6am, single lane restrictions are possible in this work zone. 

•      The ramp from Lawrence Avenue to southbound I-75 is open.

•      The ramp from Collingwood Boulevard to northbound I-75 is open

•      The ramp from southbound I-75 to Collingwood Boulevard is open.

Ramp closures:

•      Through October, the ramp from northbound I-75 to Bancroft Street is closed.  Detour: Berdan Ave (Exit 205B); Detroit Avenue.

Through August 2016, the following ramps are restricted or closed:

·         The interchange ramp from eastbound I-475 to southbound I-75 is reduced to one lane.

·         The interchange ramp from northbound I-75 to westbound I-475 is reduced to one lane.

·         The ramp from D­etroit Avenue to southbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: Monroe Street; Michigan Avenue; SR 25.

·         The ramp from Detroit Avenue to northbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: Monroe Street; 14th Street.

Through May 2016, Oakwood Avenue, between Wells Street and Grove Place, is closed for bridge work.  Seek alternate route.  Project complete: August 2016.  All work is weather permitting.

4. Interstate 75: Rest Area Closure

Wood County (170-14)Through July 2016, the northbound and southbound I-75 rest areas are closed as part of the I-75 widening project.  Project complete: July 2016.  All work is weather permitting.

5. Interstate 75: Soil Boring

Lucas County:  Effective tonight, through Wednesday, November 4, weeknights from 10pm through 5:30am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, between Miami Street (Exit 199) and the Anthony Wayne Trail (Exit 201B).

 

6. Interstate 475: ProMedica Parkway Ramp
Lucas County:
  Through 2016, the ramp from ProMedica Parkway to eastbound I-475 is closed for traffic control.  Detour: westbound I-475; Douglas Road.  All work is weather permitting.

7. Interstate 475/U.S. Route 23: Interchange Upgrade
Lucas County (184-14 & 210-15):  
Through December, the ramp from southbound US 23 to Central Avenue is closed.  Detour: southbound I-475/US23; Airport Highway (Exit 8A).  Additionally at this time, southbound US 23 traffic is reduced to one lane from the I-475/US 23 split in Sylvania to Central Avenue.  The ramp from westbound I-475 to Central Avenue (Exit 13) is open.

Overnight lane restrictions are possible at the interchange of I-475/US 23 from Central Avenue to N. Holland Sylvania Road.  Through October, lane restrictions are possible on Blossman Road, between Moffat Road and Plainview Drive for bridge work.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

8. Interstate 475: Bridge Widening
Lucas County (251-13 & 235-14):
  Through October, the ramp from westbound Airport Highway to northbound I-475 is closed.   Detour: southbound I-475; Salisbury Road/Dussel Drive (Exit 6).  Through December, Angola Road at I-475 is closed for bridge replacement.  Detour: Holland Park Boulevard; North Mall Drive; McCord Road; Airport Highway; Holland Sylvania Road.

Through May 2016, overnight from 8pm until 6am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Angola Road and Salisbury Road/Dussel Drive.  11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-475, between Angola Road and Salisbury Road/Dussel Drive. Project complete: August 2016.  All work is weather permitting.  

9. Interstate 475: Noise Wall Installation

Lucas County (314-14):  Through October, intermittent shoulder and lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Corey Road and Woodley Road, for finish work.  Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

10. Interstate 475: Pavement Work

Wood County: Additional lane restrictions on I-475, between SR 25 and US 24, for pavement work will be announced.

11. Interstate Maintenance Work

Lucas and Wood Counties:  Through December, intermittent overnight lane restrictions are possible on I-75, I-280 and I-475 in Lucas and Wood counties for maintenance work.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

12. U.S. Route 20: Central Avenue Interchange Project
Lucas County (210-15): 
Through September 2017, overnight from 9pm until 6am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475/US 23 between Dorr Street and the I-475/US 23 interchange.  11-foot lane width restrictions are in place within the work zone. Additional restrictions will be announced.  Project complete: September 2017.  All work is weather permitting. 

 

13. U.S. Route 20: Utility Work

Lucas County: Through November, overnight from 9pm until 6am, lane restrictions are possible on Central Avenue, between I-475 and Central Park West, for gas line relocation.  For more information, contact Columbia Gas at 1-800-344-4077.  All work is weather permitting.

14. U.S. Route 20A: Eber Road Roundabout Project *UPDATE*
Lucas County (184-15):
  Through Friday, November 6, US 20A at Eber Road will be closed for roundabout installation.  Detour: Airport Highway (SR 2); Crissey Road.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

15. State Route 2: Anthony Wayne Bridge Project

Lucas County (58-13): Through November, expect lane restrictions and no pedestrian access for finish work.  Additionally through November, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on Yondota Street, Utah Street, Morris Street, Miami Street, and Ottawa Street for bridge work.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

16. State Route 2: Pavement Repair *NEW WORK*

Lucas County:  Effective Monday, November 2, through Friday, November 6, daily from 7am until 3pm, SR 2, between North Curtice Road and Howard Road, will be reduced to one lane for pavement repair.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  All work is weather permitting.

17. State Route 25: Safety Project *TRAFFIC PATTERN CHANGE*
Lucas County (299-15):
  Through Monday, November 2, the Anthony Wayne Trail, between Hippo Way and City Park Boulevard, is reduced to two lanes for intersection safety improvement and pavement replacement.  Effective Monday, November 2 at 7pm, through Tuesday, November 3 at 6am, the Anthony Wayne Trail, between Hippo Way and City Park Boulevard, may be reduced to one lane for traffic pattern change.  Effective Tuesday, November 3 at 6am, through September 2016, northbound (inbound to downtown Toledo) Anthony Wayne Trail, between Hippo Way and City Park Boulevard, will be open to three lanes of traffic.  Through September 2016, southbound (outbound from downtown Toledo) Anthony Wayne Trail, between Hippo Way and City Park Boulevard, will remain reduced two lanes of traffic for pavement rehabilitation.  Project complete: November 2016.  All work is weather permitting.

18. State Route 64: Roundabout and Realignment *PROJECT COMPLETE*
Lucas County (143-15): 
The intermittent lane restrictions on SR 64 at Finzel Road for finish work are now complete.    

 

19. McCord Road: Underpass Construction
Lucas County (236-14): 
Through September 2016, McCord Road between North Mall Drive/Hall Road and Spectrum Drive is closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.  Detour: Holland Park Boulevard; North Mall Drive.  Project complete: November 2016.  All work is weather permitting.

20. Dorr Street: Bridge Repair *CLOSURES MONDAY*

Lucas County:  Effective Monday, November 2, through Monday, November 9, Dorr Street, between Division Street and Washington Street will be closed for bridge repair.  Detour: Collingwood Boulevard; Monroe Street.  Effective Monday, November 2, through Friday, November 6, daily from 9am until 3pm, the ramp from southbound I-75 to Washington Street may be closed for bridge repair.  Detour: Collingwood Boulevard (202B).   All work is weather permitting. 

21. U.S. Route 6: Pavement Reconstruction and Bridge Work
Wood County (170-14):
  Through June 2016, the ramp from southbound I-75 to eastbound US 6 is closed.  Detour: westbound US 6; SR 25.  Through June 2016, US 6, between SR 25 and Dunbridge road, is reduced to one lane in each direction.  Lane widths are restricted to 11ft in this work zone.  Work complete: June 2016.  All work is weather permitting.

22. State Route 64: Slide Repair *UPDATE*
Wood County (155-15):
  Through November, intermittent lane restrictions are possible within this work zone for slide repair.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

23. State Route 235: Resurfacing *WORK COMPLETE*
Wood County (441-15): 
SR 235, between Willow Road and Old Coach Road, is open.  The resurfacing project will continue in spring 2016. 

 

24. State Route 420: Safety Improvements *PROJECT COMPLETE*

Wood County (423-14):  The short-term, intermittent lane restrictions on southbound I-280, between SR 795 and SR 163, and on SR 420, between SR 163 and I-80/I-90, are now complete.

25. State Route 582: Bridge Rehabilitation *UPDATE*

Wood County (154-15):  Through November, SR 582, between Stony Ridge Road and Layman Road is closed for bridge rehabilitation.  Detour: SR 199; SR 105; US 23.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting. 

 

26. State Route 795: Pavement Repair *UPDATE*

Wood County: Through Friday, October 30, eastbound SR 795, between East Broadway Road and Cummings Road, is reduced to one lane for pavement repair work.  All work is weather permitting.

27. Jerry City Road: Bridge Replacement *UPDATE*

Wood County (3028-15):  Through Friday, November 6, Jerry City Road, between Wingston Road and Potter Road, is closed for bridge replacement.  Detour: Wingston Road; Cygnet Road; Potter Road.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

28. Tracy Road: Bridge Replacement

Wood County (3040-15):  Through November, Tracy Road, between Welling Road and Latcha Road, is closed for bridge replacement.  Detour: Latcha Road; Oregon Road; US 20.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

29. Caris Road: Culvert Replacement *UPDATE*
Wood County (312-15):
Through Friday, November 13, Caris Road, between SR 582 and Devils Hole Road, is closed for culvert replacement.  Detour: SR 582; Laymen Road; Devils Hole Road. Additionally at this time, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on SR 582 at Caris Road. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: November. All work is weather permitting.

30. Five Point Road: Bridge Replacement  

Wood County (3040-15):  Through November, Five Point Road, between SR 199 and Thompson Road, will be closed for bridge replacement.  Detour: SR 199; Dowling Road; Lime City Road.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

 

Ottawa/Sandusky/Seneca Counties

 

31. State Route 2: Lightner Road Bridge Widening

Ottawa County (232-15):  Through August 2016, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on SR 2, between SR 53/SE Catawba Road and SR 269, for bridge work.  Additionally, Lightner Road, between Kirk Road and East State Road, may be reduced to one lane for temporary pavement construction.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Additional restrictions will be announced.  Project complete: September 2016.  All work is weather permitting.

32. State Route 163: Culvert Replacement *UPDATE*

Ottawa County:  Effective Monday, November 2, through Friday, November 6, SR 163, between Behlman Road and Leutz Road, will be closed for culvert replacement.  Detour: SR 19; SR 2; SR 358.  Effective Wednesday, November 4, through Friday, November 6, SR 163, between Lightner Road and SR 269, will be closed for culvert replacement.  Detour: SR 53; SR 2; SR 269 (Exit 125A).  All work is weather permitting.


33. U.S. Route 6: Roundabout Construction *UPDATE*
Sandusky County (8018-15
):  Through November, a temporary traffic signal is used to maintain one lane of traffic on US 6/SR 53, between Napoleon Road and Muskellunge Creek Road.  Through November, Muskellunge Creek Road, between Spieldenner Road and Gerwin Road, is closed.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

 

34. State Route 19: Culvert Replacement *PROJECT COMPLETE*

Seneca County (237-15):  The lane restrictions on SR 19, between US 224 and CR 58/Crawford Seneca County Line Road, for finish work are complete.

35. State Route 162: Culvert Replacement *UPDATE*

Seneca County:  Effective Friday, October 30, through Friday, November 6, SR 162, between SR 4 and TR 197, will be closed for culvert replacement.  Detour: SR 4; US 224; SR 99.  All work is weather permitting.

Williams/Fulton/Henry Counties

36. State Route 107: Bridge Rehabilitation *PROJECT COMPLETE*
Williams County (153-15):
 The intermittent lane restrictions on SR 107, between CR 8 and CR 9 for finish work are complete.

37. County Road 49/County Road 16: Bridge Replacement *ROAD OPEN*

Williams County (3036-15):  Intermittent lane restrictions are possible on CR 49/CR 16, between CR I50 and CR J, for finish work.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

38. State Route 18: Culvert Replacement *NEW WORK*

Henry County:  Effective Monday, November 16, through Friday, November 20, SR 18, between CR 10 and CR 11, will be closed for culvert replacement.  Detour: SR 108; SR 281; SR 109.  All work is weather permitting.

39. State Route 109: Damascus Bridge: Bridge Replacement

Henry County (1-15):  Through October 2017, motorists should watch for additional truck traffic near SR 109 at the Damascus bridge for bridge work.  Work impacting traffic will be announced.  Project complete: October 2017.  All work is weather permitting.

40. Various Routes: Guardrail & Electrical Maintenance

District Wide (1071-14 & 1076-14):  Through December, intermittent lane restrictions are possible district wide for guardrail and electrical maintenance.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.
