ODOT District Two Weekly Construction Update – March 13

You can’t get there from here season is getting underway and there is construction all across Northwest Ohio. NBX will try to keep you up to date on where and when, in ODOT District’s 1 and 2, the work will potentially impact you commute and travels across our area!

Lucas/Wood Counties

1. Interstate 75: Widening 

Wood & Hancock Counties (170-14, 199-14, 237-14 & 3000-14): Through 2016, southbound I-75 is reduced to two lanes from US 20 to I-475 Perrysburg.  Through 2016, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-75 between US 20 in Perrysburg to CR 99 in Hancock County.  Project complete: October 2017.

 Through Friday, March 20, from midnight until 1pm, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75 between the I-75/I-475 interchange in Perrysburg to SR 18 for pavement repair.

Project complete: October 2017.  All work is weather permitting.

2. Interstate 75: Rest Area *UPDATE*

Wood County:  Through Saturday, March 14, overnight from 10pm until 7am, both north and southbound rest areas, south of US 6, will be closed for utility work.  All work is weather permitting.

3. Interstate 75: Widening *UPDATE*

Lucas County (485-14, 536-14): Project to widen I-75 from I-475 in Toledo to I-280.  Effective Monday, March 16, through July 2018, overnight from 10pm until 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, from I-475 in Toledo to I-280 for traffic shifts.  Motorists are advised traffic pattern changes in this work zone.

The following ramps will be closed:

·       The ramp from North Cove Boulevard to westbound I-475 will be permanently closed.  Detour: Central Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Phillips Avenue.

·       The ramp from eastbound I-475/northbound I-75 to Jeep Parkway will be permanently closed.  Detour: Philips Avenue (Exit 206); Detroit Avenue; Berdan Avenue.

·       Through July 2016, the ramp from northbound I-75 to Jeep Parkway (Exit 205A).  Detour: Berdan Avenue (Exit 205B); Detroit Avenue.

·       Through July 2018, the ramp from Jeep Parkway to southbound I-75.  Detour: Berdan Avenue.

·       Through July 2018, the ramp from Willys Parkway to northbound I-75.  Detour: Berdan Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Philips Avenue.

·       Through July 2018, the ramp from southbound I-75 to Willys Parkway (Exit 205A).  Detour: Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B).

Local Streets:

Through June 2016, Jeep Parkway from Central Avenue to Berdan Avenue will be closed.  Central Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Berdan Avenue.

 Through July 2018, Willys Parkway from Pioneer Lane to Jeep Parkway will be closed.

 Project complete: July 2018.  All work is weather permitting.

 4. Interstate 75: Pavement Rehabilitation   

Lucas County (268-14): Through July, I-75, from the I-75/475 split in Toledo to the Anthony Wayne Trail, is reduced to two lanes. Through April, Oakwood Avenue, between Wells Street and Grove Place, will be closed for bridge work.  Seek alternate route.  Through July 2016, the following ramps will be restricted or closed:

·       The interchange ramp from eastbound I-475 to southbound I-75 is reduced to one lane.

·       The interchange ramp from northbound I-75 to westbound I-475 is reduced to one lane.

·       The ramp from Detroit Avenue to southbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: Monroe Street; Michigan Avenue; SR 25.

All work is weather permitting.  Project complete: July 2016.  All work is weather permitting.

 5. Interstate 75: Bridge Deck Repair

Lucas County (1090-14): On Friday, March 13, daytime lane restrictions are possible on Indiana Avenue over I-75 for bridge deck repair. All work is weather permitting.

6. Interstate 475/U.S. Route 23: Interchange Upgrade *UPDATE*

Lucas County (184-14): Effective Wednesday, March 18 from 8pm, through Thursday, March 19 at 6am, the ramp from westbound I-475 to southbound I-475/US 23 will be closed for beam installation.  Detour: northbound US 23; Monroe Street (Exit 234).  Lane restrictions are possible at the interchange of I-475/US 23 from Central Avenue to N. Holland Sylvania Road.  Through March, Blossman Road, between Moffet Road and Plainview Drive is closed for bridge work.  Detour: Plainview Drive; Central Avenue; Fairbanks Avenue.  Short-term overnight road closures for bridge beam setting will be announced.   Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

7. Interstate 475: Bridge Widening  *MAJOR CLOSURE STARTS MONDAY*         

Lucas County (251-13 & 235-14): Effective Monday, March 16, through July, the ramp from Airport Highway to southbound I-475 will be closed for bridge repair.  Detour northbound I-475; Central Avenue (Exit 13). Through May 2016, overnight from 8pm until 6am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Angola Road and Salsibury Road/Dussel Drive.  11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-475, between Angola Road and Salsibury Road/Dussel Drive.  Through June 2016, lane and shoulder restrictions are possible on the Ohio Turnpike (I-80/I-90) at the I-475 bridge.  Through June, Manley Road at the Ohio Turnpike Bridge is closed.   Project complete: June 2016.  All work is weather permitting.

8.  Interstate 475: Noise Wall Installation   

Lucas County (314-14): Through June, shoulder restrictions are possible on I-475, from Corey Road to Woodley Road, for noise wall installation.  Overnight lane restrictions on I-475 will be announced.  Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

9. Interstate 475: Bridge Deck Replacement  *UPDATE*

Lucas County (480-14): Through August, overnight from 9pm until 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-475 at Bancroft Street for bridge replacement.  Through August, expect shoulder restrictions on I-475 at Bancroft Street for bridge repair.  Effective Monday, March 16, though July, Bancroft Street at I-475 will be closed for bridge replacement.  Detour: Holland-Sylvania Road; Dorr Street; McCord Road.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

10. Interstate 280: Drainage Work *NEW WORK*

Lucas County: Effective Friday, March 13, from 12am until 7am, the ramp from southbound I-280 to Front Street (Exit 9) will be closed for drainage work.  Detour: Starr Avenue (Exit 8); northbound I-280; Front Street (Exit 9).  All work is weather permitting.

11. State Route 2: Anthony Wayne Bridge Project *UPDATE*

Lucas County (58-13): Effective today, and Friday, March 13, daily from 7:30am until 5pm, Utah Street, between Nevada Street and Greenwood Avenue will be closed for bridge deck removal.  Detour: Nevada Street; Yondota Street; Greenwood Avenue.  Additionally, at this time, Morris Street between Williams Street and Broadway Street will be closed for bridge deck removal.  Detour: Ottawa Street; Broadway Street.  Through September, the Anthony Wayne Bridge is closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.  Detour: Oak Street; Fassett Street; Miami Street; I-75; Anthony Wayne Trail (Exit 201B); Monroe Street; Summit Street.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

12. McCord Road: Underpass Construction

Lucas County (236-14): Through Monday, March 16, center turn lane restrictions are possible on McCord Road from North Mall Drive/Hall Street to Spectrum Drive for traffic maintenance.  On Monday, March 16 through April, McCord Road from North Mall Drive/Hall Street to Spectrum Drive will be reduced to one lane for traffic maintenance.  Project complete November 2016.  All work is weather permitting.

13. U.S. Route 20: Holland Sylvania Road & Reynolds Road Intersection Improvements 

Lucas County (145-14 & 252-14):  Effective, today through June, lane restrictions are possible on Central Avenue from Fairbanks Avenue to Reynolds Road for median installation.  Additionally, through June, expect lane restrictions on Holland-Sylvania Road, between Huntingfield Boulevard to Bonsels Parkway for median installation.  Effective today through June, intermittent lane restrictions are possible at the intersection of Central Avenue and Reynolds Road for safety improvements.  Project complete: July.   All work is weather permitting

14. U.S. Route 6: Pavement Reconstruction 

Wood County (170-14):  Through Friday, March 20, additional lane restrictions are possible for pavement work.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Through April, US 6, between SR 25 and Dunbridge road, is reduced to one lane in each direction.  Lane widths are restricted to 11ft in this work zone.  Through April, the following ramps are closed for pavement reconstruction:

·       The ramp from southbound I-75 to eastbound US 6.  Detour: westbound US 6; SR 25.

·       The ramp from northbound I-75 to westbound US 6.  Detour: eastbound US 6; Dunbridge Road; Wooster Street (SR 105); southbound I-75.

Work complete: May.  All work is weather permitting.

15. U.S. Route 20: Pavement Repair *UPDATE*   

Wood County: Through Friday, March 20, weekdays from 9am until 6pm, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on US 20 from SR 420 and Lime City Road for pavement repair.  All work is weather permitting.

16. State Route 281: Bridge Replacement  

Wood County (442-14): Through May, SR 281 will be closed between SR 25 and Solether Road for bridge replacement. Detour: SR 25; US 6; SR 199. Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

17. Gypsy Lane Road: Bridge Repair  

Wood County (1093-14):  Through July, Gypsy Lane Road over I-75 is reduced to one lane for bridge repair.  Traffic is maintained by automated signal.  Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

Ottawa/Sandusky/Seneca Counties

18. State Route 2: Mine Remediation   

Ottawa County (27-13):  Through May, SR 2 between SR 163 and SR 53 is reduced to one lane in each direction for mine remediation.  Additionally, at this time, the ramp from southbound SR 53 to westbound SR 2 is closed.  Detour: SR 53; SR 163.  Project complete: May 2016.  All work is weather permitting.

19. U.S. Route 6: Pavement Repair *NEW PROJECT*

Sandusky (49-15): Effective Monday, April 13 through May, US 6, between CR 294 and TR 298, will be closed for pavement repair.  Detour: SR 510; SR 412; SR 101; SR 269.  All work is weather permitting.

20. State Route 12: Bridge Rehabilitation  * CLOSURE STARTS MONDAY*

Sandusky and Seneca Counties (433-14): Effective Monday, March 16 through June, SR 12 over Wolf Creek between Seneca County Line Road and Sullivan Street in Bettsville will be closed for bridge rehabilitation. Detour: SR 635; US 6; SR 53.  Additional restrictions will be announced.  Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitted.

21. State Route 412: Culvert Repair  * CLOSURE STARTS MONDAY*

Sandusky County (324-14):  Effective Monday, March 16 through June, SR 412 between US 20 and SR 510 will be closed for culvert repair.  Detours: US 20; SR 510. Additional restrictions will be announced. Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitted.

22. State Route 67: Bridge Repair

Seneca County (21-15): Effective Wednesday, March 18, through April, SR 67 between South Township Road 17 and East Township Road 42, south of Melmore, will be closed for bridge repair.  Detour: SR 231; US 224; SR 100. Project complete April.  All work is weather permitted.

 Williams/Fulton/Henry Counties

23. State Route 281: Culvert Replacement *NEW PROJECT*

Henry County (442-14): Effective Monday, March 18 through Monday, June 15, SR 281 will be closed between CR 10 and SR 109 for culvert replacement.  Detour: SR 108; SR 18; SR 109.   All work is weather permitting.

24. County Road 424: Stone Arch Replacement 

Henry County (607-12): Through April, CR 424, between SR 109 and TR 6C, is closed for stone arch repair.  Detour: SR 295; US 24; SR 109.  Project complete: April.  All work is weather permitting.

District Wide 

25. Various Routes: Guardrail & Electrical Maintenance  

District Wide (1071-14 & 1076-14): Through December, intermittent lane restrictions are possible district wide for guardrail and electrical maintenance.  Project complete: December. All work is weather permitting.
