ODOT District Two Weekly Construction Update – May 14
Lucas/Wood Counties
1. Interstate 75: Widening *UPDATE*
Wood & Hancock Counties (170-14, 199-14, 237-14 & 3000-14): Effective Tuesday, May 26 through May 28, motorists are advised of traffic pattern changes throughout this work zone.
Effective Wednesday, May 27 at 6am, through December, the ramp from southbound I-75 to westbound I-475 will be reduced to one lane. Effective, Wednesday, May 27 at 7pm, the ramp from eastbound I-475 to northbound I-75 will be reduced to one lane permanently.
On Thursday, May 28 at 6am, through December, one lane of northbound I-75 traffic, from Roachton Road to US 20, will be maintained in the northbound lane and one lane of northbound I-75 traffic, from Roachton Road to US 20, will be relocated to the southbound I-75 lane and separated by barrier wall.
Through 2016, southbound I-75 is reduced to two lanes from US 20 to I-475 in Perrysburg.
Through November, overnight, from 7pm until 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75 between the I-75/I-475 interchange in Perrysburg to CR 99 in Hancock County. Through 2016, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-75 between US 20 in Perrysburg to CR 99 in Hancock County. Through December, Township Road 101 in Hancock County, between CR 220 and TR 142, is closed for bridge work over I-75. Project complete: October 2017. All work is weather permitting.
2. Interstate 75: Widening *UPDATE*
Lucas County (485-14, 536-14): Through July 2018, overnight, 7pm through 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, from I-475 in Toledo to I-280 for bridge work.
Through fall 2016, one lane of I-75 traffic is maintained in the current northbound lane and one lane of traffic is relocated to southbound I-75 and separated by barrier wall.
Wednesday, May 20,from 10pm through Thursday, May 21 at 6am, the ramp from northbound I-75 to southbound I-280 will be closed. Detour: northbound I-75; Alexis Road (Exit 210); southbound I-75.
Motorists are advised of traffic pattern changes in this work zone.
Through May 2017, the Polish Village Overpass is closed for bridge work. Detour: North Expressway Drive; Stickney Avenue; South Expressway Drive.
The following ramps are closed:
· Through November 2016, the ramp from northbound I-75 to Phillips Avenue (Exit 206). Detour: south Expressway Drive (Exit 207); Stickney Avenue; North Expressway Drive.
· Through June 2016, the ramp from southbound I-75 to Philips Avenue (Exit 206). Detour: North Expressway Drive (Exit 207); Stickney Avenue; South Expressway Drive.
· Through June 2016, the ramp from Phillips Avenue to northbound I-75. Detour: Manhattan Boulevard; Lagrange Street; South Expressway Drive.
· The ramp from North Cove Boulevard to westbound I-475 is permanently closed. Detour: Central Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Phillips Avenue.
· The ramp from eastbound I-475 to northbound I-75 to Jeep Parkway is permanently closed. Detour: Philips Avenue (Exit 206); Detroit Avenue; Berdan Avenue.
· Through July 2016, the ramp from northbound I-75 to Jeep Parkway (Exit 205A). Detour: Berdan Avenue (Exit 205B); Detroit Avenue.
· Through July 2018, the ramp from Jeep Parkway to southbound I-75. Detour: Berdan Avenue.
· Through July 2018, the ramp from Willys Parkway to northbound I-75. Detour: Berdan Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Philips Avenue.
· Through July 2018, the ramp from southbound I-75 to Willys Parkway (Exit 205A). Detour: Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B).
Local Streets:
Tonight from 10pm through Friday, May 15, at 6am Phillips Avenue will be closed at I-75. Detour: Manhattan Boulevard; Lagrange Street; Detroit.
Monday, May 18, from10pm through Tuesday, May 19, at 6am, Phillips Avenue will be closed at the intersection of I-75. Detour: Manhattan Boulevard; Lagrange Street; Detroit.
Cecelia Avenue at I-75 is permanently closed. Detour: Stickney Avenue
Through July, expect lane restrictions on Phillips Avenue at I-75 and on Lagrange Street at I-75 for bridge work.
Through June 2016, Jeep Parkway from Central Avenue to Berdan Avenue is closed. Central Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Berdan Avenue.
Through July 2018, Willys Parkway from Pioneer Lane to Jeep Parkway is closed.
Project complete: July 2018. All work is weather permitting.
3. Interstate 75: Pavement Rehabilitation *UPDATE*
Lucas County (268-14): Through July, I-75, from the I-75/475 split in Toledo to the Anthony Wayne Trail, is reduced to two lanes. Overnight, 10pm through 6am, single lane restrictions are possible in this work zone. Through May 2016, Oakwood Avenue, between Wells Street and Grove Place, will be closed for bridge work. Seek alternate route. Through July 2016, the following ramps will be restricted or closed:
· The interchange ramp from eastbound I-475 to southbound I-75 is reduced to one lane.
· The interchange ramp from northbound I-75 to westbound I-475 is reduced to one lane.
· The ramp from Detroit Avenue to southbound I-75 is closed. Detour: Monroe Street; Michigan Avenue; SR 25.
Additional ramp closures will be announced. Project complete: July 2016. All work is weather permitting.
4. Interstate 475: ProMedica Parkway Ramp
Lucas County: Through 2016, the ramp from ProMedica Parkway to eastbound I-475 is closed for traffic control. Detour: westbound I-475; Douglas Road. All work is weather permitting.
5. Interstate 475/U.S. Route 23: Interchange Upgrade
Lucas County (184-14): Lane restrictions are possible at the interchange of I-475/US 23 from Central Avenue to N. Holland Sylvania Road. Through April, lane restrictions are possible on Blossman Road, between Moffet Road and Plainview Drive for bridge work. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: December. All work is weather permitting.
6. Interstate 475: Bridge Widening
Lucas County (251-13 & 235-14): Through July, the ramp from Airport Highway to southbound I-475 is closed for bridge repair. Detour: I-475; Central Avenue (Exit 13). Through May 2016, overnight from 8pm until 6am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Angola Road and Salsibury Road/Dussel Drive. 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-475, between Angola Road and Salsibury Road/Dussel Drive. Through June 2016, lane and shoulder restrictions are possible on the Ohio Turnpike (I-80/I-90) at the I-475 bridge. Through June, Manley Road at the Ohio Turnpike Bridge is closed. Project complete: June 2016. All work is weather permitting.
7. Interstate 475: Noise Wall Installation
Lucas County (314-14): Through May, weekdays from 10am until 4pm, and on Saturday’s from 7:30am until 4pm, eastbound I-475, between Corey Road and Talmadge Road, is reduced to one lane for post installation. Through June, shoulder restrictions are possible on I-475, from Corey Road to Woodley Road, for noise wall installation. Overnight lane restrictions on I-475 will be announced. Project complete: June. All work is weather permitting.
8. Interstate 475: Bridge Deck Replacement
Lucas County (480-14): Through August, overnight from 9pm until 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-475 at Bancroft Street for bridge replacement. Through August, expect shoulder restrictions on I-475 at Bancroft Street for bridge repair. Though July, Bancroft Street at I-475 is closed for bridge replacement. Detour: Holland-Sylvania Road; Dorr Street; McCord Road. Project complete: August. All work is weather permitting.
9. Interstate 475: Pavement Work
Wood County: Through Friday, May 15, overnight from 7pm to 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-475 in both directions between SR 25 and US 24 for pavement repair. All ramps will remain open. All work is weather permitting.
10. U.S. Route 20: Holland Sylvania Road & Reynolds Road Intersection Improvements
Lucas County (145-14 & 252-14): Through June, lane restrictions are possible on Central Avenue from Fairbanks Avenue to Reynolds Road for median installation. Additionally, through June, expect lane restrictions on Holland-Sylvania Road, between Huntingfield Boulevard to Bonsels Parkway for median installation. Through June, intermittent lane restrictions are possible at the intersection of Central Avenue and Reynolds Road for safety improvements. Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.
11. State Route 2: Anthony Wayne Bridge Project
Lucas County (58-13): Through November, the Anthony Wayne Bridge is closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Detour: Oak Street; Fassett Street; Miami Street; I-75; Anthony Wayne Trail (Exit 201B); Monroe Street; Summit Street. Through June, Miami Street between Nevada Street and Greenwood Avenue, is closed for bridge work. Detour: Fassett Street; Oak Street. Through May short-term intermittent, closures are possible on Yondota Street and Utah Street for bridge work. Project complete: December. All work is weather permitting.
12. State Route 64: Roundabout and Realignment *NEW PROJECT*
Lucas County (143-15) Effective Tuesday, June 2, through August, SR 64, at Finzel Road will be closed for roundabout construction. Detour: SR 295; US 24. Additionally, Finzel Road south of SR 64 will be closed. Finzel Road north of SR 64 will remain open at this time. Additional closures of Finzel Road will be announced. Project complete: October. All work is weather permitting.
11. State Route 295: Culvert Replacements
Lucas County: Through Friday, May 22, SR 295 is closed between Doran Road and Archbold-Whitehouse Road for multiple culvert replacements. Detour: US 24; SR 64. All work is weather permitting.
13. McCord Road: Underpass Construction
Lucas County (236-14): Through September 2016, McCord Road between North Mall Drive/Hall Road and Spectrum Drive is closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Detour: Airport Highway; Holland Sylvania; Angola Road. Project complete: November 2016. All work is weather permitting.
14. Various Routes: Bridge Painting
Lucas County (8027-14): Through May, the right turn lane from southbound Summit Street (SR 51/65) to Oliver Street may be restricted for bridge painting. Suggested alternate route: Clayton Street. Work on Miami Street (SR 65) and on US 24 near Fallen Timbers will be announced. Project complete: December. All work is weather permitting.
15. U.S. Route 6: Pavement Reconstruction and Bridge Work *UPDATE*
Wood County (170-14): Effective tonight, at 7pm through Friday, May 15 at 6am, expect intermittent lane restrictions on US 6, between SR 25 to County Home Road for bridge work. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Through October, the ramp from southbound I-75 to eastbound US 6 is closed. Detour: westbound US 6; SR 25. Through October, US 6, between SR 25 and Dunbridge road, is reduced to one lane in each direction. Lane widths are restricted to 11ft in this work zone. Work complete: October. All work is weather permitting.
16. U.S. Route 6: Resurfacing and Bridge Work *UPDATE*
Wood County (434-14): Through July, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on US 6, between County Home Road and SR 199 for resurfacing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Through August, US 6, between Rudolph Road and Klopfenstein Road is reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge repair. Project complete: September. All work is weather permitting.
17. State Route 65: Resurfacing
Wood County (587-14): Through August, daytime intermittent lane restrictions are possible on SR 65, between SR 235 to SR 64 for resurfacing. Lane width restrictions of 10.5 feet are possible in this work zone. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: August. All work is weather permitting.
18. State Route 65: Slope Repair
Wood County (119-15): Through May, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on SR 65, between Weston Road and Benschoter Road, for preconstruction work. Effective Monday, June 1, through September, SR 65, between Weston Road through Benschoter Road, will be closed for slope repair. Detour: SR 235; US 6; SR 65. Project complete: September. All work is weather permitting.
19. State Route 281: Bridge Replacement
Wood County (442-14): Through May, SR 281, between SR 25 and Solether Road, is closed for bridge replacement. Detour: SR 25; US 6; SR 199. Project complete: June. All work is weather permitting.
20. State Route 420: Safety Improvements
Wood County (423-14): Through July, northbound SR 420, between SR 163 and Libbey Road, is reduced to one lane for widening. The left turn lane from southbound SR 420 to Libbey Road is permanently closed. Motorists should use the newly built turnaround. 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on northbound SR 420. Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.
21. Gypsy Lane Road: Bridge Repair
Wood County (1093-14): Through July, Gypsy Lane Road over I-75 is reduced to one lane for bridge repair. Traffic is maintained by automated signal. Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.
Ottawa/Sandusky/Seneca Counties
22. State Route 2: Mine Remediation
Ottawa County (27-13): Through June, SR 2, between SR 163 and SR 53, is reduced to one lane in each direction for mine remediation. Additionally, at this time, the ramp from southbound SR 53 to westbound SR 2 is closed. Detour: SR 53; SR 163. Project complete: June. All work is weather permitting.
23. State Route 53: Safety Improvement Project *UPDATE*
Ottawa County (468-14): Through May, restrictions are possible on the ramp from northbound SR 53 to eastbound SR 2 for pavement work. Ramp access is maintained. Through May, intermittent single lane restrictions are possible on SR 53 between Wilcox Road and S. Wonnell Road for safety improvements. Project complete: June. All work is weather permitting.
24. U.S. Route 6: Bridge Painting *UPDATE*
Sandusky County (96-15): Effective Wednesday, May 27, through Friday, June 5, the ramp from westbound US 20 to US 6/5thStreet (Exit 102). Detour: SR 53 (Exit 101); eastbound US 20. Additionally at this time, the ramp from US 6/5th Street to eastbound US 20 will be closed for bridge painting. Detour: westbound US 20; SR 53 (Exit 101). Through June, US 6/5th Street, at US 20 will be reduced to one lane for bridge painting. Project complete: June. All work is weather permitting.
25. U.S. Route 6: Bridge Repair
Sandusky County (49-15): Through May, US 6, between CR 294 and TR 298, is closed for bridge repair. Eastbound detour: SR 510; SR 412; SR101; SR 269. Westbound detour: SR 269; SR 101; US 20. Project complete: August. All work is weather permitting.
26. State Route 12: Bridge Rehabilitation
Sandusky and Seneca Counties (433-14): Through May, SR 12 over Wolf Creek between Seneca County Line Road and Sullivan Street in Bettsville will be closed for bridge rehabilitation. Detour: SR 635; US 6; SR 53. Additional restrictions will be announced. Project complete: August. All work is weather permitted.
27. State Route 412: Culvert Repair
Sandusky County (324-14): Through June, SR 412 between US 20 and SR 510 is closed for culvert repair. Detours: US 20; SR 510. Additional restrictions will be announced. Project complete: July. All work is weather permitted.
28. U.S. Route 224: Resurfacing *UPDATE*
Seneca County (50-15): Effective Wednesday, May 27, through June, US 224, between Miller Street and Township Road 197, will be closed for culvert replacement. Additional lane restrictions will be announced for resurfacing. Project complete: July. All work weather permitting.
29. State Route 18: Resurfacing
Seneca County (20-15): Through May, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on SR 18 between CR 32 and the Seneca/Sandusky county line. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: June. All work is weather permitted.
30. State Route 18: Culvert Replacement *CLOSURE BEGINS MONDAY*
Seneca County: Effective Monday, May 18, through Monday, June 1, SR 18 between TR 17 and TR 169 will be closed for culvert repair. Detour: US 224; SR 67. All work is weather permitting.
31. State Route 67: Bridge Repair *UPDATE*
Seneca County (21-15): Through May, lane restrictions are possible on SR 67 between South Township Road 17 and East Township Road 42, south of Melmore for resurfacing. Project complete: June. All work is weather permitting.
32. State Route 587 : Culvert Replacement
Seneca County (55-15): Effective Tuesday, July 7, through July, SR 587 between CR 18 and TR 112, will be closed for culvert replacement. Detour: US 224; US 23; SR 18. Project complete: August. All work is weather permitting.
Williams/Fulton/Henry Counties
33. State Route 109: Damascus Bridge: Bridge Replacement
Henry County (1-15): Effective Monday, May 18, through October 2017, motorists should watch for additional truck traffic near SR 109 at the Damascus bridge for bridge work. Work impacting traffic will be announced. Project complete: October 2017. All work is weather permitting.
34. State Route 281: Culvert Replacement
Henry County (442-14): Through June, SR 281, between CR 10 and SR 109, is closed for culvert replacement. Detour: SR 108; SR 18; SR 109. All work is weather permitting.

District Wide (1071-14 & 1076-14): Through December, intermittent lane restrictions are possible district wide for guardrail and electrical maintenance. Project complete: December. All work is weather permitting.
