ODOT District Two Weekly Construction Update

Updates are highlighted in bold and underlined.

 Lucas/Wood Counties

1. Interstate 75: Widening *UPDATE*
Wood & Hancock Counties (170-14, 199-14, 237-14 & 3000-14):

Interstate Restrictions:  Through July, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, between US 20 and CR 99 in Hancock County, for finish work.

Through June, I-75, between Oil Center Road and CR 99, will be reduced to two, 11-foot lanes for paving. Motorists are advised of traffic pattern change.

Effective Thursday, April 6 at 9pm, through Friday, April 7 at 6am, lane restrictions are possible on I-75, between Roachton Road and Devils Hole Road, for sign installation. Additionally at this time, lane restrictions are possible on the ramp from northbound I-475 to SR 25 (Exit 2) for sign installation.

Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

2. Interstate 75: Widening *UPDATE*

Lucas County (485-14, 536-14):  Through September 2018, overnight, 7pm through 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, from I-475 in Toledo to I-280 for widening and bridge work.

Effective Tuesday, April 4, through Thursday, April 6, nightly from 10pm until 6am, southbound I-75 may be closed at the Polish Village Overpass for bridge work. Traffic will be rerouted using North Expressway Drive.

Effective Wednesday, April 5, through Friday, April 7, nightly from 10pm until 6am, northbound I-75 may be closed at the Polish Village Overpass for bridge work. Traffic will be rerouted using South Expressway Drive.

Effective Thursday, April 6, through Saturday, April 8, nightly from 10pm until 6am, lane restrictions are possible on southbound I-75, between Ottawa River Road and Lagrange Street, for pavement work and sign installation.

Effective Friday, April 7 at 10pm, through Saturday, April 8 at 6am, the ramp from northbound I-75 to Stickney Avenue (Exit 207) will be closed for traffic pattern change.  Detour: Alexis Road (Exit 210); southbound I-75.

Effective Saturday, April 8 at 10pm, through Sunday, April 9 at 6am, southbound I-75, between Ottawa River Road and Lagrange Street may be reduced to one lane for traffic pattern change.  Effective Sunday, April 9 from 12:01am until 6am, the ramp from southbound I-75 to southbound I-280 will be closed.  Detour: Lagrange Street (Exit 207); South Expressway Drive; northbound I-75.

The following ramps are restricted/closed:

  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Phillips Avenue to southbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: northbound I-75; Stickney Avenue (Exit 207); North Expressway Drive; southbound I-75.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Jeep/Willys Parkway to southbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: Detroit Avenue.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Jeep/Willys Parkway to northbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: Berdan Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Phillips Avenue.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from southbound I-75 to Jeep/Willys Parkway (Exit 205A) is closed.  Detour: Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B).

·         Through September 2018, the interchange ramp from eastbound I-475 to southbound I-75 is reduced to one lane.

Local Streets:

Through May, the Polish Village Overpass is closed for bridge work.  Detour: North Expressway Drive; Stickney Avenue; South Expressway Drive.

Through June, South Expressway Drive is restricted to a single lane between Stickney Avenue and Lagrange Street.

Through June, Elm Street and Wersell Avenue at South Expressway Drive, are closed.

Through June, Stickney Avenue, is restricted to a single lane between North Expressway Drive and South Expressway Drive.

Through August, northbound Detroit Avenue under I-75 will be reduced to one lane for bridge work.

Through October, expect lane restrictions on Phillips Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

Through July 2018, lane restrictions are possible on Detroit Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

Through July 2018, expect lane restrictions on Berdan Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

Through July 2018, Willys Parkway from Pioneer Lane to Jeep Parkway is closed.

Project complete: September 2018.  All work is weather permitting.

3. Interstate 75: Rest Area

Wood County (8000-17):  Through June, the southbound I-75 rest area is closed for renovations and pavement repair.  Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

4. Interstate 75: Joint Repairs & Striping *NEW WORK*

Lucas County:  Effective Sunday, April 2, from 4am until noon, northbound I-75, between South Avenue and Dorr Street, may be reduced to one lane for joint repairs and striping.  Additionally at this time, the following ramps will be closed:

·         The ramp from northbound I-75 to Anthony Wayne Trail/SR 25 (Exit 201B).  Detour: Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B); Monroe Street.

·         The ramp from northbound I-75 to Collingwood Boulevard (Exit 201A).  Detour: Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B); Monroe Street.

·         The ramp from South Avenue to northbound I-75.  Detour: South Avenue; Anthony Wayne Trail.

All work is weather permitting.

5. Interstate 280: Bridge Repair *UPDATE*

Lucas County (1075-16): Through April, shoulder and single lane restrictions are possible on southbound I-280, between Greenbelt Parkway (Exit 11) and Starr Avenue (Exit 8), for bridge repair. Project complete: May. All work is weather permitting.

6. Interstate 280: Bridge Repair Project
Lucas County (1002-17): 
Through March of 2018, lane restrictions are possible on I-280 between Starr Avenue and Greenbelt Parkway for bridge repair. Ramp restrictions/closures may be announced. Project complete: March 2018.  All work is weather permitting.

7. Interstate 475: ProMedica Parkway Ramp
Lucas County:
  The ramp from ProMedica Parkway to eastbound I-475 is open to access southbound I-75 only.  Through September 2018, the ramp from ProMedica Parkway to eastbound I-475 to access northbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: southbound I-75; Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B); northbound I-75.  All work is weather permitting.

8. Interstate Maintenance Work
Lucas and Wood Counties:
 Through December, intermittent overnight lane restrictions are possible on I-75, I-280 and I-475 in Lucas and Wood counties for maintenance work.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

9. U.S. Route 20: Central Avenue Interchange Project
Lucas County (210-15):
 Through September, Central Avenue, between McCord Road and Van Fleet Parkway, may be reduced to one lane for finish work. Through September, lane restrictions are possible on I-475/US 23, between Dorr Street and N. Holland Sylvania Road.  Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.

10. U.S. Route 20: Traffic Signal Upgrades

Lucas County (301-16):  Through May, daytime intermittent lane restrictions are possible at the intersection of Central Avenue/US 20 and Meijer Drive for finish work.  Project complete: May.  All work is weather permitting.

11. State Route 2: Anthony Wayne Bridge Painting Project
Lucas County (220-16): 
Through November, SR 2, between Oak Street and Broadway Street, is reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge painting. Additional local road closures may be announced.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

12. State Route 51: Bridge Rehabilitation Project *RESTRICTIONS BEGIN MONDAY*

Lucas County (550-16): Through Monday, April 3, lane restrictions are possible on I-75, between Bancroft Street and Lincoln Avenue, for bridgework.  Effective Monday, April 3, through September, Monroe Street/SR 51 over I-75 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge work.  Effective Monday, April 3, through June, access to/from Monroe Street to/from Glenwood Avenue, and from eastbound Monroe Street to Lawrence Avenue, will be maintained through right turn movements only.  Additionally at this time, Maplewood Avenue and Lawrence Avenue north of Monroe Street, and northbound Lawrence Avenue, between Woodruff Avenue and Monroe Street, will be closed.  Additional restrictions and closures will be announced. Project complete: October. All work is weather permitting.

13. State Route 295: Resurfacing and Bridge Repair
Lucas County (622-16):
Effective Monday, April 3, through mid-June, SR 295, between Neapolis Waterville Road and Doran Road will be closed for bridge repairs. Detour: US 24; SR 64. Additional restrictions will be announced. Project complete: November. All work is weather permitting.

14. State Route 295: Chip Sealing *NEW PROJECT*

Lucas County (1068-16):  Effective Monday, April 3, through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 295, between SR 64 and US 20A, for chip sealing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

15. Bowen Road: Bridge Redecking

Lucas County (289-16):  Through October, nightly from 7pm through 6am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Secor Road and Douglas Road, for bridge work. Through July, Bowen Road, between Groveland Road and Langenderfer Drive, is closed for bridge deck replacement.  Detour: Groveland Road; Rushland Avenue.  Project complete: June 2018. All work is weather permitting.

16. U.S. Route 20: Culvert Replacements, Resurfacing & Turn Lanes

Wood County (256-16):  Through Monday, April 10, US 20, between Glenwood Road and Broadway Street will be closed for two culvert replacements east of Glenwood Road and east of Tracy Road.  Detour: SR 420; I-280; SR 795; I-75; US 20.  Local access to US 20 available via Ault, Oregon and Tracy Roads.

Through July, lane restrictions are possible on US 20, between Glenwood Road and SR 420 for resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.

Effective Monday, April 10, through Wednesday, April 12, US 20 at Oregon Road may be closed for turn lane installation.  Detour: SR 420; I-280; SR 795; I-75; US 20.

Effective Thursday, April 13 through April, Oregon Road at US 20 will be closed for turn lane installation.  At this time, US 20 will be open to through traffic.

Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

17. State Route 25: Diverging Diamond Interchange

Wood County (8029-16):  Through October, overnight from 7pm until 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between the I-75/475 interchange and Fort Meigs Road, for diverging diamond interchange work.  Additionally, overnight from 9pm until 6am, lane restrictions are possible on SR 25, between Levis Commons Boulevard and Eckel Junction Road, for diverging diamond interchange work.  Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

18. State Route 795: Traffic Signal Upgrades

Wood County (301-16):  Through May, daytime intermittent lane restrictions are possible on SR 795 at Glenwood Road, for traffic signal upgrades.  Project complete: May.  All work is weather permitting.

 

19. State Route 795: Bridge Rehabilitation Project *LANE RESTRICTIONS BEGIN MONDAY*

Wood County (300-16): Effective Monday, April 3, through June, SR 795, between Cummings Road and Luckey Road, will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge rehabilitation. Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

20. Fort Meigs Road: Widening
Wood County (460-16):
  Through June, Fort Meigs Road, between Five Point Road and the high school drive in Perrysburg, will be closed for widening.  Detour: Five Point Road; SR 25; Roachton Road.  Local access maintained.  Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

Ottawa/Sandusky/Seneca Counties

 

21. State Route 2: Bridge Rehabilitation

Ottawa County (499-16):  Through May, lane restrictions are possible on SR 2 over Gypsum Road for bridge work.  Additional lane restrictions may be announced in the fall.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

 

22. State Route 53: Resurfacing and Bridge Work

Ottawa County (500-16):  Through September, lane restrictions are possible on SR 53, between Sandusky/Ottawa county line and SR 2, for resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Additionally, lane restrictions are possible on the SR 53 bridge over SR 2 for bridge work.  Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.

23. State Route 358: Pavement Repairs and Chip Sealing *PROJECT BEGINS MONDAY*

Ottawa County (1070-16):  Effective Monday, April 3, through June, daily from 7am to 5pm, lane restrictions are possible on SR 358, between SR 163 and SR 2, for pavement repairs. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.

24. U.S. Route 6/20: Bridge Deck Sealing *LANE RESTRICTIONS BEGINS MONDAY*

Sandusky County (31-17):  Effective Monday, April 3, through June, lane restrictions are possible on the US 6/20 Fremont bypass for bridge deck sealing.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

 

25. State Route 53: Traffic Signal Upgrades

Sandusky County (301-16):  Through May, shoulder restrictions are possible on SR 53, between US 20 and Sean Street, for finish work. Additional restrictions may be announced.  Project Complete: May.  All work is weather permitting.

26. State Route 582: Pavement Repairs and Chip Sealing *PROJECT BEGINS MONDAY*

Sandusky County (1070-16):  Effective Monday, April 3, through June, daily from 7am to 5pm, lane restrictions are possible on SR 582, between US 23 and SR 105, for pavement repairs. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.

27. State Route 101: Pavement Repairs and Chip Sealing *PROJECT BEGINS MONDAY*

Seneca & Sandusky Counties (1070-16):  Effective Monday, April 3, through June, daily from 7am to 5pm, lane restrictions are possible on SR 101, between CR 62 and Limerick Road, for pavement repairs. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.

28. State Route 19: Culvert Replacement *NEW WORK*

Seneca County:  Effective Monday, April 10, through Friday, April 21, SR 19, between SR 778 and TR 164, will be closed for culvert replacement.  Detour: SR 101; US 20.  All work is weather permitting.

Williams/Fulton/Henry Counties

 

29. U.S. Route 20: Railroad Repair

Williams County: Effective Monday, April 10, through Friday, April 14, US 20, between Brice Avenue and CR 21.5, may be closed for railroad repair.  Detour: SR 15; US 20; SR 127.  All work is weather permitting.

30. U.S. Route 20: Bridge Repair *NEW PROJECT*

Fulton County (504-16):  Effective Monday, April 17 through May, US 20, between CR 20 and CR 19-2, will be closed for bridge repairs.  Detour: US 20; SR 66; US 20A; SR 108.  Project complete: June. All work is weather permitting.

 

31. U.S. Route 20A: Resurfacing and Signal Upgrades

Fulton County (8016-16):  Through April, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on Airport Highway/US 20A, between the Lucas/Fulton County line and CR 3, for signal work.  Project complete: May.  All work is weather permitting.

32. U.S. Route 127: Railroad Repair *CLOSURE BEGINS FRIDAY*

Fulton County:  Effective Friday, March 31, through Saturday, April 8, US 127, between CR T and Ohio/Michigan state line, may be closed for railroad repair.  Detour: SR 15; Michigan Pioneer Road; Michigan East Territorial Road.  All work is weather permitting.

33. State Route 18: Chip Sealing *NEW PROJECT*

Henry County (1068-16):  Effective Monday, April 3, through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 18, between Holgate and SR 109, for chip sealing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

34. State Route 109: Chip Sealing *NEW PROJECT*

Henry County (1068-16):  Effective Monday, April 3, through June, lane restrictions are possible on SR 109, between Hamler and the Henry/Putnam county line, for chip sealing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

35. State Route 109: Damascus Bridge: Bridge Replacement

Henry County (1-15):  Through October, motorists should watch for additional truck traffic near SR 109 at the Damascus bridge for bridge work.  Work impacting traffic will be announced.  Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

36. Various Routes: Guardrail, Striping & Electrical Maintenance

District Wide (1053-15 & 1059-15 & 1044-15):  Through December, intermittent lane restrictions are possible district wide for guardrail, striping and electrical maintenance.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

The Ohio Department of Transportation maintains the state’s largest man-made asset–the transportation system. ODOT’s mission is to provide the safe and easy movement of people and goods from place to place. As a $2.8 billion per year enterprise, ODOT invests the bulk of its resources in system preservation through maintenance, construction and snow and ice operations.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
