The Ohio High School Athletic Association has established an annual State
Sportsmanship, Ethics and Integrity Award and it’s awarded in all OHSAA
member schools across the state.
This award goes to a person who reflects a high level of ethics and integrity in dealing with students and the interscholastic athletic program. A person who has contributed to the well-being of the youth of our high school. This award is an opportunity for all high schools to honor one of their own community members with this prestigious state award.
This year’s recipient is active in all seasons and most sports here at North
Baltimore. He has served on the Sports Boosters, volunteers his time with
men’s league on Sundays, he operates our football scoreboard, stat books
for varsity girls basketball and junior high boys basketball, and volunteers
his time with village leagues also. He and his family attend almost every
home athletic event. He has encouraged his children to get involved also
and they too volunteer to help out with athletics wherever necessary. This
year’s state award for exemplary contribution and service goes to NBHS
alumni, Joe Kepling.
