Next week during Homecoming week, Paws for a Cause is doing a Pennies for Patients collection to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The money goes to help the organization in various ways, from funding healthcare for personal victims of the cancer to providing stays for family members. Each class will be competing to see who can raise the most money.
The competition will end next Friday, and the classes will receive points for battle of the classes. If we raise $550 as a school, the winning class will also receive an Olive Garden lunch. Mrs. Matthes has a box in her room for the 7th grade, Mr. Lamb has 8th, Daniels has 9th, Huffman has 10th, Garner has 11th, and Ms. Lauer has 12th.
Currently, the sophomores are winning with $89.29, 8th grade is in second place with $50, seniors in third with $13.74, and the juniors have a $1.
Collection will continue until next Friday, January 15th. Paws for a Cause members will also be collecting donations at the Dudes’ Volleyball game on Wednesday, January 13th, and the girls’ basketball game on January 14th.
We would love to have any able community members donate to this worthy cause as well. If you wish to donate, please drop off money at the school, contact Ms. Lauer at [email protected] or 419-257-3464, or donate online at:http://events.lls.org/pages/noh/NorthBaltimoreJrSrHighSchool
