Pemberville, OH (October 3, 2016) – Since the group’s inception last year, Knifty Knitting of Wood County Committee on Aging’s (WCCOA’s) Pemberville site has knitted and donated approximately 500 hats to veterans groups, cancer patients at Wood County Hospital, and The Bowling Green Pregnancy Center.
In August of 2015, a group of ladies led by Anna Meiring of Luckey, Ohio came up with the idea of knitting hats on looms for anyone who could use a little extra loving touch. These fun-loving and generous-minded women talk, laugh and knit while helping many. Their purpose is to help those they can with the side effect of an enjoyable morning with friends. With currently 7 to 8 members, more are always welcome – men and women alike!

The group now meets in a corner of the fellowship hall of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pemberville every Monday at 10:30 a.m. as part of the Senior Center’s weekly activities. If you happen to be in Pemberville at the right time on a Monday morning, stop by the Pemberville Area Senior Center and join our Knifty Knitting group. The Pemberville site can also be reached at 419-287-4109 and operates from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
