The Village of North Baltimore, Ohio is pleased to announce the hiring of a full-time EMS Chief.
Phil Walters Jr. will begin his duties as Chief on August 14th. The Village gives many thanks to our part-time Chief, Will Matthes, for the wonderful job he has done for the last 3 years. Will has been instrumental in helping lead NBEMS from a volunteer/part-time paid staff to a full-time paid staff.
Phil Walters is a life-long Village resident who has been active on the EMS and NBPD both as a volunteer and a paid member. He was the Chief of our volunteer squad from 1991-2004 and is looking forward to serving our current EMS in that capacity. As a department manager at BGSU, Phil was responsible for scheduling and supervising up to 25 employees and this supervisory experience will be a great asset to the Village.
Phil is married to Becky and has 2 children. He is very excited to serve the Village residents in this capacity and will give, “110%” Phil also says, “This is my town, and I want to do what is best for the residents!” Welcome Phil to this new position and stop in to see him at the EMS station (after he starts August 14).
The Village has a new policy not to announce new employees until finalized by Village Council and until the applicant has officially accepted the position.
