Photo Gallery from the morning that the GOBA riders passed through North Baltimore, Ohio
July 8, 2015
Letter to the Editor
We want to send out a huge THANK YOU to all of our community friends, families, civic organizations and businesses that supported the recent GOBA (Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure) breakfast event. Over 2,000 cyclists came to North Baltimore on their 2015 GOBA route, with most stopping at Powell Elementary for a quick breakfast.
All items were donated for the event, from paper products, coffee, milk, juice, water and Gatorade to baked goods, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs and PB&J sandwiches. The Giving Garden Committee made $3,309.00 from this event to put towards the garden planned for the front of Powell Elementary. We would like to give special thanks to the following individuals, families, organizations and businesses for their donations:
• North Baltimore Daisy/Girl Scouts
• North Baltimore Cub Scouts
• North Baltimore Gleaners
• Reiter Dairy
• Powell Elementary Staff
• Powell Elementary Families
• Powell Elementary Custodial Staff
• St. Luke’s Lutheran Church
• Maranatha Bible Church
• Friends and Families of Kim Baker Conkle
• Friends and Families of Doug Clouser
• North Baltimore McDonald’s
With these additional funds, our total for the garden is just over $10,000. It is our hope to begin some initial work on The Giving Garden in the spring of 2016. Contributions for The Giving Garden can be made at Huntington Bank. In addition, if there are any groups looking for projects, we would love to have additional help. Just contact one of the committee member!
Many thanks again to all who gave of their time, energy and donations to make this such a huge success. Once again we exceeded our expectations with the proceeds made by this event!
With appreciation,
The Giving Garden Committee: Jennifer Carter, Kathi Bucher, Denise Whiteleather, Jeanne Titus, Amanda Jacobs, Marina Williford, Linda Leow and Marlene North
