Last month, third graders walked to the North Baltimore Public Library. Students got to hear about the different books the library had to offer and listen to Miss Cheryl read them a story. After the story, students got to select their own books to check out. Upon arriving back at school, students had time to read their new books on the front lawn.

After learning about plant life cycles, third graders got to do a seed search. Students searched for seeds in different fruits and vegetables. After cutting apart the fruits and vegetables and finding all the seeds, students recorded their observations. Then, they discussed with their teams the similarities and differences of the various seeds the found. Students were surprised to learn that not all seeds are the same. They were also surprised to learn that some fruits and vegetables have more seeds inside than others.
