Quilt Day at the Fair

Quilts can be made for all season and all reasons. Use your creativity to design an item or get inspiration for other quilters and quilted items to design your own wonderful project. Your imagination is the limit and those in attendance can give your ideas and help you capture the ideas you want in a quilted item to make it your own creation.

Quilt Day at the Wood County fair is scheduled for Thursday August 3, 2017. The exhibit and demonstrations will be held in the Annex Building close to Poe Road on the fairgrounds.

For the convenience of the guest the event will open to the public at 11 am and close at 7 p.m. The exhibit is free and will feature a display of quilts and local quilters displaying and working on creative projects.

The demonstrations for this year’s program include “The Artist in You” by Wendy Jenkins who will discuss and show items that inspire her and how she moves from an inspiration to project, pattern and finished item. By adding colors, interesting fabrics and trims and creative stitches you too can be a quilt artist.

An additional demonstration is entitled “Infinite Stitches and Add-Ons” which a features a group of experienced and knowledgeable quilts in the areas of thread play, added embellishments and trims and other additions that can change the look of a quilt.

All types of quilted items will be on display from clothing and accessories, wall hanging, baby to kind size quilts.  Anyone can enter a quilt for this one day non-competitive quilt show.
