Recent “Relay for Life” Music Recital Raises Funds

Emily Meyerson, NB Schools vocal music instructor, and Janet Goldner, retired musician and educator, (and present NB Village Council member) recently held at music recital at St. Lukes Lutheran Church to raise funds for the American Cancer Society through the local Relay for Life team at Powell Elementary School. The ladies are happy to report they collected $1000.  This is the fourth year for this fundraiser.

The afternoon began with a beautiful musical rendition of The Lord’s Prayer, and was followed with several modern and classical pieces. Ms. Meyerson shared her depth of talent as she sang several operatic selections from¬† Schubert, Mozart, Puccini, and Verdi.

After a short intermission, the pair continued with more selections, many which were popular show tunes and American classics.

Joining the duo for a few selections, were Mr. Ben Pack, clarinetist and NB Local Schools band instructor, and Miss Allison Beaupry, recent NBHS graduate, who will pursue a music degree at BGSU beginning this fall.

Here are some photos from the event:
