COLUMBUS – State Representative Theresa Gavarone (R-Bowling Green) has announced that she will be seeking re-election to the 3rd Ohio House District in 2018. The 3rd District encompasses all of Wood County.
“The people of Wood County put a lot of faith in me when they elected me to serve as their state representative in 2016,” Gavarone said. “After a lot of thought, I have decided to run for re-election so we can continue building on all the of the great things that have been accomplished this past year. Speaking at township trustee meetings, interacting with constituents and attending area events have given me an even better understanding of the issues that are important to families and communities across Wood County, and I look forward to continuing to advocate for those interests in my second term.”
Rep. Gavarone has focused her first term as State Representative working on impactful legislation that helps victims of human trafficking rebuild their lives, assists local governments by helping fund important community projects and improves communication between our most vulnerable citizens and law enforcement. She also voted to secure $180 million in funding for innovative community-based programs to fight the opioid and heroin addiction epidemic that has impacted thousands of families in Ohio.
“Representative Gavarone has been such a positive presence in the House since joining the legislature in 2016,” said Ohio House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger. “Her infectious attitude and willingness to tackle any issue head-on is just the start of what makes her a fantastic public servant. Wood County residents should take comfort knowing just how well-represented they are by Theresa.”
Outside of her public service, Rep. Gavarone is an attorney and co-owner with her husband, Jim, of the popular downtown Bowling Green restaurant, Mr. Spots. She and Jim live in Bowling Green and have three children.
