COLUMBUS—Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) today announced that State Representative Tim Brown (R-Bowling Green) will be resigning from his seat in the Ohio House to take a position as President of the Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments (TMACOG).
“It has been a tremendous honor to serve the people of the 3rd House District. Additionally, I want to specifically thank the Speaker for allowing me to take a more active role and serve as Chairman of the Government Accountability and Oversight Committee,” said Rep. Brown. “Over the course of my 20 year career in elective office, I have worked with a large number of public servants, and a handful of statesmen and stateswomen. Speaker Clifford Rosenberger is among the most dedicated of them all to the concepts of democracy and meeting the challenges of our times.”
Rep. Brown is currently serving his second term as state representative for the 3rd Ohio House District. As chair of the Government Accountability and Oversight Committee, he’s been instrumental in shepherding a wide variety of bills through the committee process. He’s also been a leader on other important issues, such as helping to provide a pathway for medication synchronization through House Bill 116 and helping to streamline state government as vice-chair of the Sunset Review Committee.
“I’ve enjoyed working with Rep. Brown on a variety of issues during his time in the Ohio House and I want to thank him for his loyal service and friendship,” Speaker Rosenberger said. “He’s been a collaborative leader and strong unifier as a representative. I know he will be missed by House members, and I know he will be a great leader for TMACOG.”
Rep. Brown’s resignation is expected to be effective in July.
