TOLEDO, OH – On Monday, the Office of U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) will host two workshops to help seniors protect their finances and avoid fraud. A U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) representative will cover topics including how to recognize and prevent all types of fraud; frequently used fraud schemes; what to do if you become a victim of fraud; protecting your identity; and protecting your credit and finances.
“Too often, Ohio’s seniors fall victim to schemes and fraud that jeopardize their identity, finances, and credit,” said Brown. “To empower seniors to protect their hard-earned retirement savings, this seminar will provide resources and information that seniors need to recognize fraud and take action if they become the target of fraud.”
Brown’s office will host a morning session at Mayores Senior Center and an afternoon session at Eleanor Kahle Senior Center. There is no cost to attend.
