Grounds Update

We sure have been busy with keeping the grounds looking beautiful! We updated our Courtyard area with a new garden. We also completed our mural project on the Gas Plant building back by the Herb Garden. We worked with Chilly Rodriguez, who is a mural artist out of East Toledo.

FREE LIVE MUSIC CONCERT AT WOOD COUNTY MUSEUM

The Wood County Museum will hosting its 2nd annual concert series “Music at the Museum Presented by Visit BG Ohio”, a free concert featuring Live Music on the east wing porch of the historic County Home building on the following dates in 2024: July 11, August 8, and September 19 – starting at 6:00 PM. Each concert will feature 2-3 bands.

The September “Music at the Museum”, will feature 3 bands: Grand Royale Ukuleists of the Black Swamp (GRUBS) • Trip-Letes • Corduroy Road.

Concert-goers are asked to bring chairs or blankets for lawn seating.

Food trucks and yard games will also be onsite

On September 26 from 4-7pm we will be hosting a birthday party to celebrate the birthday kitty, Peaches! Enjoy cake, punch and cotton candy (donated by Awesome Sauce Sugar Floss)!

The Wood County Museum is collecting donations for a winter house for Peaches. Plus, we’ll be partnering with For the Love of Cats (FLOC) and we are hosting a kitty supply drive, collecting cat food, litter, and various supplies and will have information about the FLOC organization and how they help the community cats.

Peaches birthday party is a FREE community event. We are asking for RSVP’s so we can get an accurate number for ordering cake.

Backstory on Peaches: Peaches is a barn cat that adopted the Wood County Museum as his home. He has been with us for about 2 years now. The staff and community members help care for him, and he loves the attention he gets. Peaches is a TNR cat, and was part of the FLOC TNR program. Peaches is also a feature on the museum’s Facebook page every Saturday for #caturday!
