Protecting Lake Erie by Cleaning Rural Water:
Southeast Regional (Bloomdale) Water Reclamation Facility Public Tour
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio, – The Northwestern Water and Sewer District (The District) invites the public to tour our newly completed Southeast Regional Water Reclamation Facility in Bloomdale, Ohio.
Along the southern border of Wood County, Ohio, the small villages of Bairdstown and Bloomdale and their surrounding areas faced failing residential septic systems and an aged wastewater treatment plant. By joining The Northwestern Water and Sewer District, these villages were able to secure grants from the Ohio Water Development Authority’s (OWDA) Unsewered Community Program along with principal forgiveness through the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency’s (OEPA) Water Pollution Control Loan Fund to pay for approximately 60% of the cost of this combined $5.8 million project.
