COLUMBUS—Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) announced the group of applicants who met Friday’s deadline to be screened to fill the soon-to-be vacant 3rd House District seat.
“I want to thank those who took the opportunity to apply for the appointment,” Speaker Rosenberger said. “These individuals all have impressive backgrounds and experiences, and I look forward to working with House members and Wood County officials to select the best candidate for the role.”
The applicants for the 3rd House District are as follows:
- Theresa Charters Gavarone, attorney and member of Bowling Green City Council
- Haraz N. Ghanbari, Director of Military and Veteran Affairs at the University of Toledo
- Edward L. Schimmel, attorney and Mayor of the City of Northwood
A screening panel of House members will be tasked with vetting the applicants. The panel is expected to meet at some point next week.
