State ranked Liberty – Benton got everything the Lady Tigers could give for 3 and half quarters, then the #7 – in D-III Eagles ran away to a 96 – 44 win, on their home court.
NB (11-9, 4-6 BVC) trailed just 42 – 35 half way into the 3rd quarter, but L – B (19-1, 10-0 BVC) lit is up to extend the lead to 62 – 40 by the end of the period. The defending league champs clinched a share of the league title in the process.
NB was again led by Alivia Light, the junior scored 18 points, with 4 assists. Katelyn Weinandy hit 10 points, with 6 rebounds. Simone Thompson scored 6 points; Mia McCartney 5 points and 2 steals; Haley Watson 3 points and 7 rebounds. Leah Lee scored 2 points.
L-B won the JV game 70 – 27.
Light, according to sources close to the situation, is just one point short (999) of One Thousand (1,000) points for her career.
