OHSAA State Basketball and Wrestling Tickets Go On Sale Friday

Special ticket packages and the Center Court Club available for basketball state tournaments

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ticket sales begin this Friday, January 30, for the upcoming Ohio High School Athletic Association state tournaments in basketball and individual wrestling, which will be held in March at the Schottenstein Center at The Ohio State University. The public sale begins at 10 a.m. Friday through Ticketmaster or at the Schottenstein Center ticket office.

 

The 78th annual OHSAA state wrestling individual tournament is March 12-14, the 40th annual girls basketball state tournament is March 19-21 and the 93rd annual boys basketball state tournament is March 26-28. Tickets are already on sale for the third annual OHSAA state wrestling dual team tournament Feb. 14 at St. John Arena.

 

State tournament tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com, or in person at Ticketmaster locations (including most Kroger stores) or by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000. Service charges apply when ordering tickets through Ticketmaster and can be avoided by purchasing tickets in person at the Schottenstein Center ticket office. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fans purchasing tickets at Ticketmaster.com can access OHSAA state tournament tickets by keying ‘OHSAA’ into the search box.

Boys Basketball Pricing and Special Offers

For the OHSAA boys basketball state tournament, sales Friday will include all-session ticket books and all-session Center Court Club ticket books. The cost for all-session (12 games) tickets is $144 per person for the Entry and Club Levels of the arena or $120 each for the Terrace Level. The limited quantity Center Court Club tickets, which cost $498 per book, are located very close to the court and also give fans the opportunity to remain in the arena between games in a special hospitality area. Note that state boys basketball single-session tickets go on sale Thursday, March 12, at 10 a.m., and prices are $15 each for the Entry and Club Levels and $12 for the Terrace Level.

 

Girls Basketball Pricing and Special Offers

Also on sale Friday will be all-session ticket books and single-session tickets for the girls basketball state tournament. The cost for all-session (12 games) ticket books is $64 each, and single-game tickets are $10 apiece. Tickets for the semifinals allow fans to watch both games in the same division. GROUP VALUE PACK FOR CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY: In addition, the OHSAA is again offering discounted tickets for groups of 10 or more to attend the girls “Championship Saturday” on March 21. The “Group Value Pack” includes tickets to all four championship games for just $24 per person, a free t-shirt for each group member (available for first 1,000 orders), a popcorn voucher and recognition on the arena’s video board. More information will be sent to schools posted at OHSAA.org.

 

Wrestling Pricing

Tickets for the state wrestling dual team tournament at St. John Arena Feb. 14 are already on sale, while all-session tickets for the state individual tournament at the Schottenstein Center begin Friday. Tickets for the dual team tournament include $15 all-session tickets or $10 single-session tickets. Tickets for the individual tournament include all-session tickets (five sessions) at $75 each for the Entry and Club Levels and $55 each for the Terrace Level. Single-session ticket sales begin Monday, March 9, at 10 a.m., with tickets priced at $15 each.

Tiger boys get road win at Bascom

North Baltimore Boys Basketball picked up a coveted BVC road win last night, hanging on to beat Hopewell – Loudon in Bascom.

The Tigers built a halftime lead of 25 – 20, and then hung on in the third quarter, battling the Chieftans (4-7, 3-4 BVC)  for control of the game, still holding the 5 point lead. But in the 4th H – L fought back themselves back into the game, but fell a basket short, 46 – 44.

North Baltimore at 6-6, 3-3 BVC was let by NB’s 6′ 7″ junior, Chad Wright, who blocked 10 shots and hit for 17 points and 6 rebounds.

Sean Watson had 4 points, 4 steals and 7 assists; Levi Newcomer hit for 8 points; Lane Bishop had 7 points; Derek McMahon hit for 5 points inside, Noah Brian hit a 3, Jacob Pelton scored 2 points.

JV Boys:

Hopewell-Loudon picked up the win  48 – 26. Scoring for NB:

Tiger hoops sweeps Ridgemont – Boys Dominate

The North Baltimore Tiger Boy’s hosted Ridgemont on Saturday, getting off to a slow and sluggish start, tied 10 – 10 at the end of the first quarter of play.

The North Baltimore Tiger Boy’s hosted Ridgemont on Saturday, getting off to a slow and sluggish start, tied 10 – 10 at the end of the first quarter of play.

In the 2nd period, NB stepped it up a notch, outscoring the Golden Gophers 16 – 10, taking a 26 – 20 lead into halftime. In the 3rd the Tigers opened the lead a little further  48 – 37 and put the game away in the 4th, taking the non-conference win 71 – 48.

NB was led by Chad Wright with a double-double scoring 22 points and pulling down 15 rebounds. The Tigers other big man, Derek McMahon also contributed a double-double scoring 12 and grabbing 11 rebounds.

Lane Bishop hit for double figures with 11 points. Noah Brian hit three treys scoring 9; Sean Watson hit 6 points; Jacob Pelton scored 4 points; Levi Newcomer added 3, with Brody Naugle and Tyler Snyder scoring 2 each.

Ridgemont was let by T. Stover with 18 points.

NB is now 3 – 6 overall and 1 – 3 in the BVC.

NB picked up the Junior Varsity win 40 -17.

The North Baltimore Lady Tiger basketball team wasted little time is taking care of Ridgemont on Saturday afternoon in The Jungle, running out to an 18 – 0 after the 1st quarter.

Twelve Tigers scored for NB, led by Olivia Frost with 12 points, in the forty point win, 54 – 14.

Others Tiger scoring included Cassidy Hiser, Morgan Oukley and Taylor Grilliot 4 points each; Caitlan Cook 5 points; Bailey Boyer hit 6 points; Lacey Trumbull 3 points and 8 rebounds; Kiah Powell 8 points;  Lindsay Davis,  Raegan Fleckner, Katelyn Weinandy Emma Rister each scoring 2 points. 

NB improved to 6 – 4 on the season.

Mackenzie Totten hit for 6 points for 2 – 8 Ridgemont.

The Junior Varsity team beat Leipsic as Ridgemont did not have a JV team (no score reported).

McComb bests NB Boys in BVC play

The North Baltimore Tiger Boys basketball team took the short ride over to McComb for some BVC basketball with the Panthers.

The North Baltimore Tiger Boys basketball team took the short ride over to McComb for some BVC basketball with the Panthers.

NB got off to a slow start, falling behind 15 – 8, but made a strong comeback in the 2nd quarter to cut the lead to just one point, 26 – 25.

But in the 3rd quarter, McComb, one of the BVC leaders at  (6-1, 4-0), put it to the Tigers, outscoring NB 15 – 5 to take control of the game. NB tried to make a game of it in the final stanza, but could not overcome the 11 point deficit falling 58 – 51.

For the Tigers Noah Brian and Derek McMahon each scored 14 points with Lane Bishop adding 10 points. Chad Wright hit for 7, Levi Newcomer and Sean Watson scored 3 points each.

McMahon led NB in rebounding with 9. Newcomer had 2 steals and Watson had 3 assists.

NB falls to 2-6 overall and 1 – 3 in BVC play.

For McComb Blake Glaser hit for 16 points with 9 rebounds. Clay Grubb scored 14 points, with and 4 steals. Trey Hanes added 10 points for the Panthers.

Tiger Boys Basketball gets pounded at Leipsic

The North Baltimore High School Boys Basketball team traveled to Leipsic for a Blanchard Valley Conference game.

The North Baltimore High School Boys Basketball team traveled to Leipsic for a Blanchard Valley Conference game.

The Vikings (3-3, 3-1 BVC) were in control of the game from tip to buzzer, taking the win 60 – 37, behind Ross Mangas game-high 24 points and a Jordan Brown  double-double, 10 points – 11 rebounds.

NB (2-4, 1-2 BVC) was led by Derek McMahan (5 rebounds) and Levi Newcomer each with 10 points. Noah Brian and Sean Watson (3 steals) scored 5 each; Chad Wright 3 points, Lane Bishop and Jacob Pelton hit 2 points each. Christian Richmond and Brian each had 2 steals.

NB was out rebounded 37 – 20, committed 16 turnovers and shot just 22 % (11 of 49/3 of 12) from the field, just 50% on foul shots (6 of 12).

Coach Burris said: “We started out strong, then McComb made a defensive switch and made it a 5-point game at half time. I told the girls that the first 3 minutes of the 3rd quarter will be crucial, and we came out and had a 13 point quarter, compared to their 6 point quarter.
“We still have some things to work on, but the coaching staff likes the progress we are making as a team. It feels good to win a couple in a row, and hopefully we can keep it up against Old Fort on Saturday, who will be very tough!”
The Tigers improve to 4-3, 2-2 BVC.
McComb (0-8, 0-4) was led by Hailey Buck who hit three 3-pointers, leading the visitors with 11 points.
