Tuesday night (Jan. 27) North Baltimore High School Boys Basketball team had an “easy” road trip, as if there is ANYTHING “easy” about being on a bus, in the dark, on a cold and windy night, in Northwest Ohio!
There was never any doubt in the outcome as NB jumped on Lakota 23 – 6 in the first quarter and opened a half time lead of 40 – 20. In the 3rd the Tigers erupted for 27 points, to lead 67 – 25. Final Score 84 – 44.
Chad Wright and Derek McMahon dominated in the paint, with Wright blocking 9 shots, scoring 17 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. McMahon hit the double – double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Lane Bishop hit 13 points, Jacob Pelton scored 9 points, Sean Watson and Levi Newcomer each had 8 points, Chris Richmond (4 assists) and Noah Brian (5 steals and 4 assists) had 4 points each, Skylar Montgomery added 3 points, Brody Naugle 2 and Tyler Snyder one point.
NB is now 7 – 6 and 3 – 3 in the BVC.
The Junior Varsity won their game 68 – 28.
The boys travel to Upper Scioto Valley for a non-league game on Saturday (1/31) for a 6:00 JV tip-off.
