The North Baltimore High School Boys Basketball Tigers traveled to Bascom for a BVC contest with the Chieftains of Hopewell-Loudon.
NB opened an early 12 – 5 lead after the first quarter and held that 7 point lead through the 2nd quarter, 28 – 21. The home team turned the tables in the 3rd stanza outscoring the Tigers 16 – 10, to cut the lead to just one, going into the final period.
Poor shooting from the foul line doomed the visitors in the final period and the overtime, hitting just 4 of 8 (8 of 18 for the game). Hopewell pulled it out in the end, denying a clean shot of a rebound put-back, as time expired.
Levi Gazarek led NB with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Noah Brian hit 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Chase Naugle had 9 points, 3 steals and 3 assists. Filip Franjic scored 5 points, Julian Hagemyer and Adam Flores had 3 points each. Noah Cotterman scored 2 points. Brady Rader had one point and 4 assists.
Hopewell improves to 4 – 0 in the BVC, 10 – 1 overall. NB falls to 2 – 4 in the BVC, 3 – 6 overall.
