In a close BVC basketball game all the way, the North Baltimore Boys (1-3, 0-2 BVC) fell to Leipsic (3-0, 2-0), in overtime, 49 – 45.
NB held the lead after the first quarter 15 – 13, but found themselves tied with the Vikings 23 all at the half. The 3rd period was a deadheat at 7 apiece, tied 30 – 30, as both squads suffered from poor shooting.
The two teams would play even in the 4th quarter, scoring 13 each, finishing regulation tied 43 all. Leipsic won the first overtime period by a score of 6 – 2 for the 4 point win.
Julian Hagemyer led the Tigers with 16 points and 3 assists. Chase Naugle had a nice all-round game with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals and 3 assists. Noah Brian added 5 points, Levi Gazarek hit 4 points and led NB with 8 rebounds. Brady Rader hit for 4 points and Adam Flores 2 points.
Leipsic won the JV game 53 – 25.
