The North Baltimore Boys Basketball team hosted 0 – 15 Lakota, in The Jungle on Saturday night. Lakota played hard, wanting to pick-up that elusive first win of the season, for their young team. The Tigers came out flat on offense and struggled to score, until senior Brody Naugle came off the bench to spark the home team, with scrappy defense, hustle and a deft shooting eye!
Naugle scored 8 of his 10 points, in a five minutes span at the end of the first quarter and the beginning of the 2nd, to help the Tigers take control of the game. NB would be up 16 – 8, after the first quarter and 33 – 15 at the half. Coach K took the opportunity to play a variety of line-ups through out the game, with all 12 players seeing action.
NB left no doubt in the 3rd quarter as to who had control of the game, as balanced scoring and a really scrappy defense, opened up a 57 – 29 lead. The final score was 72 – 39. The Tigers are now 8 – 6.
Chad Wright had another big night with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Sean Watson was solid, hitting for 15 points. Julian Hagemyer scored 10 points, grabbed eight rebounds and snagged four steals, in his strongest game yet.
Noah Brian had 4 points and 5 assists and 3 steals. Noah Cotterman had 4 points and Derrick Archer scored 2 points. Also contributing to the effort were Adam Flores, Taylor Bishop, Chase Naugle, Brady Rader and Bryce Gunter.
North Baltimore won the junior varsity game 42 – 26.
The Tigers are busy the next 7 days, with a non-conference game at Patrick Henry on Tuesday. Then a big BVC game with Arlington in The Jungle on Friday night. Then Maumee Valley Country Day also at home on Saturday night.
Come on out and watch and support the Tigers!
