North Baltimore High School hoped to get their Blanchard Valley Conference football season off to a better start than last year, but the Leipsic Vikings again shut down the Tigers running attack, to win the game 27 – 10 .
NB held the lead at halftime 10 – 6, with Noah Brian hitting a 27 yard field goal and hauling in a 15 yard pass from Brady Rader for a touchdown. However, Leipsic regained the lead in the 3rd quarter, with NB not scoring in the 2nd half.
The leading receiver for NB was Shawn Watson with 7 catches for 107 yards.
Taylor Bishop and the Tiger “O” was stopped cold by the Viking “D”, limiting him to just 32 yards on 32 carries.
In the passing game, Rader threw 31 passes, completing 14, for 198 yards, with one TD and one interception.
Brian had 3 catches for 67 yards and the TD. NB had 8 first downs and lost two fumbles.
The Tigers are at home next week with BVC foe Arcadia, 7:00 kick-off. This will also be NB Alumni and Community Band Night at the game.
