LEFT: Kole Wymer races for the TD! The North Baltimore High School Football team traveled to Tontogany for a non-league game with the Otsego Knights. Once again, NB would score with a TD pass on the first play from scrimmage…
With 2 minutes to go in the 1st quarter, Otsego would make their first score, tying the game at 7’s after one period of play. But then the Knights would reel off 4 straight scores, to take a 28 – 7 lead. NB would score near the end of the first half, on a Rader 1 – yard TD run (Gazarek PAT), to cut the lead to 28 – 14 at the half.
Otsego came out in the 3rd quarter and put the game away with two, time-consuming scores, building a 42 – 14 lead. NB, not giving up, would score at the end of the 3rd on a 55 yard TD pass from Rader to Gazarek (kick failed).
In the 4th quarter both teams added a score, with Rader hitting Gazarek with a pass from 1 – yard out (Rader run – 2 pts.) for the final score of 49 – 28.
Offensively the Tigers picked up 453 total yards, as Rader passed for 377 yards, with 23 completions in 45 attempts, with 2 TD’s and 2 interceptions. NB ran the ball for 76 yards on 21 tries, with 1 TD (Rader 7 rushes – 32 yds). NB was penalized 13 times for 90 yards and lost one fumble. Gazarek had 9 catches for 147 yards and 2 TD’s; David Patterson had 8 catches for 116 yards.
Defensively, Otsego picked up 194 yards on the ground, in 29 attempts with 3 TD’s. The Knights had 248 yard passing, 2 TD’s and 1 INT.
