Tigers Open BVC Play, with Win

The North Baltimore Tiger Football squad opened BVC play in exciting fashion, holding on at Riverdale to win 47 – 44.

NB opened up the scoring barrage with Wymer taking the ball in on a 2 yard TD scamper (Gazarek kick good). Riverdale would come right back to take the lead with a TD and 2 point conversion run. Before the 1st quarter ended it was NB leading 14 – 8, with Rader running in for a TD (Gazarek kick good).

NB would score twice more in the 2nd quarter, as Wymer took off on a 34 yard TD run (PAT no good). Then with 0:00 on the clock to end the first half, Rader hit Patterson from 48 yards out, to take the half time lead 27 – 15 (Gazarek kick good).

In the 3rd quarter, Riverdale scored as the teams traded scores. The Tiger’s coming on 48 yard TD pass to Patterson (Gazarek kick good). After 3 NB was up 34 – 22.

In the 4th quarter the Tigers would quickly score on a Rader TD pass to Flores from 7 yards out (PAT no good), to take a seemingly commanding lead 41 – 22. But Riverdale would score 3 times in the final 9:30, with Rader capping off NB’s scoring on a 7 yard TD run (Gazarek kick good), to end up with the exciting 3 point win, 47 – 44.

Wymer picked up 179 yards on 20 carries; Rader had 106 running yards on 8 carries, both had 2 rushing TD’s each.

Rader hit 11 of 20 passes for 267 yards, with 3 TD’s and 2 INT’s. David Patterson had 3 catches for 100 yards and 2 TD’s and Adam Flores had 3 catches for 106 yards and one TD.

NB finished with 184 running yards and 236 passing yards. NB was penalized 8 times for 45 yards, losing no fumbles.
