The North Baltimore High School Tiger Football team used the running attack of Kole Wymer, Brendan Cotterman and Clayton Heineman, to beat Arcadia, 54 – 14, on NBHS Senior Night, at War Memorial Field, on Friday night.
The Tigers ran the ball 28 times, picking up 341 yards and 6 rushing TD’s. Wymer led the rampage with 182 yards on 16 carries and 3 TD’s (16 yd., 4 yd., 13 yd.). Heineman had a 12 yard TD run and Cotterman added a 53 yard TD run to cap off the Tiger scoring.
NB’s QB, Brady Rader, the top quarterback in the BVC, was efficient for the night, completing 8 of 11 passes for 148 yards and 2 TD, 0 interceptions. Levi Gazarek had 5 catches, for 92 yards with 2 TD’s (15 yd. and 47 yd.) Rader also ran a TD from 3 yards out.
NB’s defense held Arcadia (1 – 6 BVC, 2 – 7 overall) in check most of the night, holding the BVC’s leading rusher Trevor Brubaker under his season average (147 yds./gm.), with just 135 yards on 23 carries. Arcadia was 4 of 11 in the passing game for 59 yards.
Both bands put on very good halftime shows and were spirited on the sidelines.
Next week NB (4 – 3 BVC, 5 – 4 overall) wraps up the 2017 season on the road at Vanlue, in BVC play, 7:00 pm.
