The Tigers (3 – 2 BVC; 4 – 4) again got off to a great start, scoring a TD within 18 seconds, following a Levi Gazarek scoop of a Red Devil (2 – 3 BVC; 3 – 4) fumble at the 39 yard line. He was able to return the fumble 37 yards, to the 2 – yard line. Kole Wymer would carry it in for the score from 2 yards out. Brady Rader hit David Patterson with the 2 point PAT), giving NB the lead 8 – 0.
Arlington would force their first of 2 safeties in the game, with 3:42 to go in the 1st quarter to make the score 8 – 2. Arlington would score two TD’s in the 2nd quarter to hold a 15 – 8 at halftime.
The Tigers finally scored again with about 5 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter, when Rader hit Patterson on a 10 yard TD pass play (PAT no good), NB would be down 15 – 14.
Arlington picked up the 2nd safety with a couple of minutes to play in the 3rd, leading at the end of the third 18 – 14.
The Tigers would roar back in the 4th quarter to take the lead on a Rader to Patterson 70 yard pass play for a TD (PAT no good), to give NB the lead 20 – 18. Unfortunately Arlington was able to continue their strong running attack, scoring twice in the 4th quarter to win 30 – 20.
Rader led the Tigers in rusing with 50 yards on 16 carries. Rader also hit 15 of 25 passes for 222 yards, 2 TD’s and one INT. Patterson had 6 catches for 114 yards and 2 TD’s.
Arlington picked up 209 yards rushing on 43 carries, with 3 TD’s. They completed 6 of 9 passes for 120 yards, 1 TD and no INT.
Next week the Tigers travel to Leipsic for another key BVC game, kick-off at 7::00.
