The North Baltimore High School Tiger Boys opened the 2014 – 15 season with a solid win versus the St. Wendelin Mohawks in The Jungle on the NBHS-MS Campus.
NB wasted no time in establishing an inside game with Derek McMahon coming off the bench to score 12 of his game high 22 points, in the first quarter. Chad Wright hit for 6 of his 19 points, as The Tigers raced to a 28 to 10 lead.
In the 2nd quarter, NB found a scrappy St. Wendlin team who battled their way back into the game, cutting NB’s big lead to just 11, with four minutes to go in the first half. NB however, found some firepower and hustle of their own, following a Coach Kloepfer time out, as Sean Watson and Levi Newcomer putt up 8 points each for the half and NB moving to a 46 – 25 lead.
NB cruised in the 2nd half, as Lane Bishop and Levi Newcomer continued to fuel the inside game, picking up 10 and 5 assists, respectively. As well as applying defensive pressure out front, along with Chris Richmond and Watson.
The Tigers head to Jerry City for the SouthWood Hoops Challenge with the Royals of Elmwood. Head over and give NB some support tonight! The Freshman tip-off of 4:45 pm; the Junior Varsity around 6:00 and the Varsity around 7:30.
