Toledo Museum of Art Partners with Alzheimers Association

“Shakespeare’s Characters: Playing the Part” is the title of a Saturday, Jan. 7, program offered jointly by the Toledo Museum of Art and the Alzheimer’s Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter.

The free gathering is designed to provide a meaningful museum visit for people experiencing the early stages of memory loss and their companions. This tour is part of an on-going monthly program, called Meet Me at TMA, especially for visitors with early stage memory loss.

The 45-60 minute tour begins at 1 p.m. and will explore a special exhibition emphasizing The Bard’s band of characters, from the comedic to the tragic, in more than 30 paintings, prints, sculptures and photographs that bring the beloved writer’s work to life.

Participants are to meet at the Information Desk, just inside the Grove Place entrance to the main museum building.

Galleries are fully accessible and wheelchairs are available at no charge. Parking is free for those taking the tour and parking tokens are available from the group leader.

Registration is requested but not required. For more information or to register, call the Alzheimer’s Association at 1-800-272-3900.

HCR Manor Care and Yark Automotive Group are also part sponsors.
