Trilogy Health Services Takes Front Position in Wellness Race

3rd Trilogy 200 Bike Ride Promotes Employee Health and Wellness

Louisville, KY (May 12, 2015) – Trilogy Health Services team members pride themselves on applying the values of their company to real-life situations outside of the workplace.  This year, the Louisville-based provider of senior health and senior living services will once again put their culture into action by challenging themselves to live by their mantra, “Better, Stronger, and Higher” while focusing on employee health and wellness.

For the past two years, a group of Trilogy employees has cycled 200 miles during the Trilogy 200 –a 200 mile wellness bicycle ride.  During the first year, 11 individuals participated in the trek across Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio.  The next year, the group grew to 16, with 11 additional riders joining up with the group for various sections of the ride through central Indiana.   This year, Trilogy will top itself once again, with over 30 employees strapping on their helmets and taking on the journey through Ohio.  Twenty-seven plan on cycling the entire 200 miles!  The Trilogy 200 will begin on June 2 and will progress over three days, with stops along the way at 12 of Trilogy’s 92 health campus locations.

“As we continue our wellness journey we are really focused on educating our employees about the importance of wellness and being informed consumers when it comes to their healthcare services. The Trilogy 200 is the signature event for our Trilogy Wellness Week which kicks off on Saturday, May 30,” commented Randy Bufford, CEO and President of Trilogy Health Services. “We are continuing to stress the fact that each of us must take personal responsibility for our own health, which includes three basic steps: First, being active and avoiding a sedentary lifestyle; second, knowing your metrics and having regular preventative screenings; and, quitting use of tobacco products. Trilogy, as a company that cares about its employees, is here to support our team members on their personal journey to wellness.”

The route begins in Willard, Ohio at The Willows at Willard, and proceeds on Day 1 to Bellevue, Ohio (The Willows at Bellevue), Fremont, Ohio (Valley View Healthcare Center) and concludes in Genoa, Ohio (Genoa Retirement Village). Day 2 begins at Monclova, Ohio (The Lakes of Monclova) and includes stops in North Baltimore, Ohio (Briar Hill Health Campus), as well as two stops in Putnam County (The Meadows of Leipsic and The Meadows of Ottawa). Day 3 wraps up with stops in Findlay, Ohio (The Heritage), Kalida, Ohio (The Meadows of Kalida) Bluffton, Ohio (Richland Manor) and concludes in Lima, Ohio (Springview Manor).

At each stop, Trilogy will host a wellness fair for campus employees. The fair will feature booths to educate and inform employees on a range of topics, including diet and nutrition, understanding your health statistics (blood pressure, etc.), and available benefits and wellness programs.

Looking for a way to get involved? At the beginning of Day 2, Trilogy Health Services invites community members, employees, residents, families, and vendors to participate in the Family Fun Ride, which begins at The Lakes of Monclova Health Campus and runs along the Wabash-Cannonball South Fork Trail.  Participants can take on the challenge of riding the full 20 miles, or join the T200 team for a portion of the ride.  The T200 team will leave the Lakes of Monclova at 10:00 a.m., and the event will end at noon.  Come out and challenge yourself to be better, stronger, and reach higher towards your wellness goals!

In addition to the support of the Trilogy Home Office team, several organizations were instrumental in providing support for the Trilogy 200. On behalf of Trilogy’s 12,000 employees, we extend a thank you to the following companies for their support: United Health Care, MetLife, Delta Dental, and Interactive Health.

Trilogy communities offer a full range of personalized senior living services, from independent and assisted living, to skilled nursing and rehabilitative services in 80 senior living communities throughout Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Michigan. Trilogy’s senior living services are delivered by staff specially trained to honor and enhance the lives of our residents through compassion and commitment to exceeding customer expectations.
