Troop 315 February Newsletter
Congratulations to Danny Crouse (left), He is Troop 315 latest Eagle scout. His Board of Review was on Tuesday, January 18 in Portage, OH. His parents and scoutmaster couldn’t be more proud of this young man for pushing ahead even as time was running thin for his project and funds to fall into place. Danny is one of the “Fab 4” that is trying hard to beat the deadline of 18 years of age to complete their Eagle projects. Hank Matthes, Tyler Stimmel and Cody Gerdeman are all hoping to have a joint Court of Honor when they all reach Eagle.. My new unfavorite number is 17.364. ( when our scouts, last day to complete their Eagle rank happens) Can You say STRESS 17 years, 364 days old

Scoutmaster’s minute
Scouts…. I am very proud of all of you. Keeping the 12 points of the scout law are very important. Wearing the uniform and know what it stands for. Our meetings have been very productive and we hope to continue to learn and make leaders out of all of you. A reminder to all Class A uniform shirt to all meetings, Class B T-shirt to fundraisers, and community service, and Full Class A uniform ( Shirt , Pants, socks, belt and hat) to ceremonies.
I always offer uniforms to our scouts and we tend to show off our vintage attire so , green is always available. berets, garrison hats, and campaign hats are also encouraged. Please wear them with pride.
I was going through some old N.B yearbooks at the dentist office and noticed many scouts wearing their uniforms during the school day. some even for picture day. a few years ago, we were able to be involved with the Veterans day celebrations at Powell and scouts did wear their uniforms to school once again . Teachers, parents, military vets alike all complimented and were excited to see scouts proudly wearing their uniforms. Wishful thinking, but I would love to see that kind of pride about our uniform .
Quote from Lord Baden Powell
Be Prepared… the meaning of the motto is that a scout must prepare himself by previous thinking out and practicing how to act on any accident or emergency so that he is never taken by surprise.
